My Raven does 1000 DPS with T2 rapid heavy missile launchers and 690 DPS with T1 with Caldari Navy Scourge MIssiles. Thats with Caldari Battleship at level 4 and three lots of Ballistic Control II. Even with Ballistic Control I, I still get 623 DPS. So I’m not sure why you only get 500 DPS.
Ditch the Raven, and get a Navy Scorpion. (Ravens always were rubbish, with no resists or decent bonuses)
Also, use cruise missiles insteads of Torps.
Not always though. There was a time when cruise Ravens were called “Cavalry Raven”.

Today, instead of a Golem, I will use a Raven once in a while. I have all skills at L5. I have modified LIang’s fit and I use this one:

3x Caldari BCU (early on I used 4 T2. T2 will work fine, I like the extra damage.)
Signal Amplifier T2 (not really needed)
Damage Control T2 (always fit a DC)
Drones:
7-10 Hobgoblin T2
Don’t forget about missile implants.
Well, if you enjoy painfully slugging it through missions - the Raven is definitely the way to go…
If you can plump for a Navy Raven, do it.
Then, if you can’t T2…
Arbalest Cruise Launcher
Caldari Navy Scourge Cruise Missiles.
These will apply, I know because I did it for a long time before I was able to fit t2s.
You’ll want two Missile Guidance, you can go ahead and run those without scripts.
Use as many of those F90 boosters as you need to match the missile range (I use two, again without scripts)
Your micro jump drive and use the Compact version of the 500mn microwarp.
Stick three Ballistic Control in the lows.
Any rigs you like, I usually use a bunch of nozzle joints so I can bail faster cos I live in Null, but you do you.
OP- did you get the advice you needed, or still searching? I have a very good Raven fit that I use for L4 missions. I can share the fit and tell you how to use it. My fit is shield tanked, cap stable, and under 400M isk (including the cost of the hull). Let me know if interested, and I’ll send you the details later.
I would have written some more details, but I couldn’t log into the game to take a look at the stats, had to just take the ship bonus from Pyfa.
Raven has no tank bonus. The module resist nerf some years ago, will have reduced its usefulness in PvE a lot. If you watch videos, make sure they are from after the nerf.
There is no application bonus, check how much each shot hits for (you can see the volley damage when you point at the launchers), and the resists on the target (right click target for info), any damage missing that is not from the resists, is misses due to lack of application (skills, web, target pointer etc), 500 DPS is also really low for a battleship. And I think Raven has a rather large drone bay, no ship bonus for them though so they suck, but will still be an important part of the overall DPS because of the amount of bandwidth (which makes the ship bad to be split so much, but maybe its the Navy issue that has the drones, I been looking a little at them but never used them).
Yes I know stats are in Pyfa but I hate using it to build fits.
