I know when mining in the Endurance or Venture or such you often use first the T1 mining laser and then you can you use the T2 mining laser right. So im bad as hell with stats and such but I started to use T2 modulated Deep core mining laser with simple asteroid mining crystal II´s. And I feels and looks like I get allot more ore than if I used regular T2 mining laser.
I know the Deep core is mainly for Mercoxit but as it works with regular ore as well. And checking on stats Miner II 15m3 while modulated II has 30m3.
So with my Endurance now and crystal I get 516m3 per 36s. While miner II gets 143m3 per 15s or 286 m3 per 30s.
So I wonder how stupid am I ?? What am I missing ? I mean I rarly see people use modulated deep core miner´s II if they are not mining Mercoxit.
I mean even on my Outrider the Miner II gives me 46m3 per 15s while deep core 166m3 per 36s
I don´t know how the boosting stats are as I have no booster now.
Deep Core Mining Lasers have the highest yield, but also aren’t very efficient.
ORE miner has slightly lower yield, no residue but is very expensive.
Miner II has much lower yield and slightly better efficiency than Deep Core Mining Lasers, and doesn’t require crystals or the skills for crystals, which can be convenient.
Yeah that I can understand. Reason I think filling the hold faster is better than being effective is when your mining a regular belt with veld and score there is so much of it that wasting it does not matter.
like the system I am in now has like 12 belt with the same dang ore wasting some of it does not matter. Plus I will never finish a belt on my own. Instead the faster I can collect it the faster I can get stared running my BPC is what I think.
But when I mine omber or such higer end ore I often switch to Miner II to not waste it as you often don´t get the chance to get omber when your solo mining.
But now I clearly understand why modulated Deep core miner is rarely ever spoken off.
But I wonder does not strip miner II with crystal also waste allot ? So using strip miners would also not be effective ?
May I suggest you keep an eye on the Abyssal market. Already there are some pretty decent rolled Miner IIs that have upgrades to cycle time, range, yield, and lower residue chance. Choosing a good one of those could be a cost-effective solution for you.
