I maybe in the minorty but Crimson Tide is a game stopper!

I fully understand this email won’t change anything, until the above ‘event’ is over, as a disabled, peaceful, industrialist / miner in high sec only, feel that this ‘invasion’ is way over the top, in all fairness and reasonableness by Eve Online.

If anyone wants to play the PVP part of the game, there’s ‘space’ within for those interested to enter low-sec or get into a clan and change their gameplay in null-sec space.

Why oh why, stop a good section of your players, for being able to do what they want, in introducing PVP in high sec, forcing it upon those players, like me and my clan, will basically stop playing until the event is over!

It’s all my clan is talking about today, and what OTHER GAME they we are going to play instead, one even going as far and saying that they are leaving Eve for good!

We all pay CCP games money in advance or by monthly subscription etc., so stopping many of us playing, after paying for the time, or go out and get killed and of course, lose a ship, which for one clan member, who’s main ship is an Orca, and could could barely afford to replace it, is a real ‘punch to the gut’…

As I said I know that these events are to ‘thin out the high sec crowd’ of a few ships etc., but doesn’t the event kind of backfire if you ARE going to lose a few subscriptions / players and the money that brings in?

Yes, I will be on on maybe once / twice a week to check up on skill training etc., but all my characters have many, many days already queued queued still.

This event really sours the taste of Eve, especially to a recently returning player.

I do hope that someone takes a measure of the game in pre Crimson Tide then after it has finished and calculates not only the loss of income, but also the bad press it already receives, please go see the comments on “Steam”, a lot regarding PVP in the game, that does create a lot of negativities.

I am 99% positive that if you total up all of null sec, low sec, worm holes etc., that that percentage of the game is much larger than you give people in high sec only who just like an easy(ish), relaxing time in game, with a few easy NPC chars to shoot at!

I don’t expect anything can or will ever be done, but I would be surprised if this is not the only message that you might read on the subject!?

I have recently become totally in love with playing Eve, as being a disabled man, without the use of my right arm along with a host of other issues, requiring a vast quantity of drugs to even keep me going, even my carer as said I seem to be more ‘involved’ in life once again, but reading up / watching an Eve employee’s YouTube video on this matter, have started to feel really quite depressed today, as being almost stopped from playing a game that I pre-paid for months, is actually CRUEL when you look at it from my/our point of view and several other players I have met since starting.

I just wish that you had even a few members of staff who also exist in High sec rather than the younger, bolder, and ‘just getting involved’ when creating these events, I’ve only just made my first billion lol

I did used to play Eve approx. 20-ish years ago, but gave up bitterly due to being ‘griefed’ something terrible in high sec, even out of such this forthcoming event.

I hope that this long (sorry) message can be looked senior people, although I guessing are firmly based in null sec space, and might not even get involved with killing more pacifist like players!

Sincerely, but very depressed from Sunday evening!

How dare they PVP in a PVP Sandbox game.

Has been in the game since its inception

Hey there, i read your message. I may have some issues translating it with 100% accuracy, but i got your meaning.

This event will not take that long. And as you know, eve is a Marathon, If you got ganked or killed by someone in highsec to get your goodies. This happens from time to time, even if you take care, not being afk, or whatever.

But you need to prepare for this. What i see, from my point of perspective is the - what i called it - weariness (hope this is the right word), of being in highsec. I got your point, your endgame is in highsec. Being there, living there, and have to deal with all the stuff. If you survive here, you survive everywhere - right ?

But this means also some planning. If that event happening, just dont do, as you do as daily routine. Because this burns out. you are not adapating, you keeping course. If you do that, at some point you will run into a wall. And maybe fell off of this. Dont do this. Grab some friends, grab some cheap ships (i am sure you make some isk, while not being in that event before). and take a look, what eves have to offer.

And if your friends discussing about what to do in other games. Let them. Sometimes you need a break. And yes, having this disabiltiy, does not mean, you can not stay on comms / chat, and just let the time passing by ?

Or do you play, to get omega, that you get caught in a hamsterwheel ?

Tell me what you think.

What about the upcoming event is a game stopper? You say a lot about how it makes you feel, but nothing about what makes you feel this way. They add a handful of different sites and implants can drop from capsules…that’s about it. For the most part you can ignore those and killing pods in high sec is hard to do unless you fly it without a ship.

PS: They didn’t say anything about wrecks dropping more loot, just pods.

Not going to miss you. Do us all a favor and don’t come back after the event.

We have enough NPCs. We don’t need more that do nothing but drive the market prices down.

Nothing in this event will change your gameplay, I don’t get what you are complaining about. Just don’t run the HS PVE sites they are adding and do whatever you normally do?

could you give a tldr that actually explains the issue?

They’re scared of their own imagination.

You’ll notice an uptick in shuttles getting popped while autopiloting in highsec, and if you lose a ship you will certainly lose your pod, but otherwise nothing changes.

Yes, it is true during the Crimson Harvest event some players prefer not play when the event is on. CCP is very aware of that fact. And yes many players do like and return when this PvP event begins. Yes it is true after three weeks into the event PvP players during slow times are writing now in local chat ‘where the hell is everyone’ wanting to fight and ‘the game is now dead’. Yes it is true CSM members had shown in graphs the player counts had steadily declined 7,500 less players online in four years. It’s not a secret. Even the CCP devs in stream admitted this had happened.

I don’t do PvP. But I like the event this year. I agree with the CCP devs they try (tried) making this event more balance and fun for all player types. If you want those 90% loot drops then goto lawless space and blast away. If in high-sec space, than nothing had changed, same 50% loot drop, blast away. Solo exploration and the rookie Class events are worth it with proper ship fittings and skills.

Maybe you want to switch into a different corp. Or goto a different location. Sounds like your corp wants to mine while the event is happening. No wonder your Orca (whale) fleet is being hunted relentlessly by the whalers and getting harpooned during this event. You had lost a ship didn’t you? Well make another or make a different ship. But get back out there. Do something different (in EVE) during the event. Your time playing is an investment in EVE, good or bad days, is added knowledge and game experience. Those players replying to you sounding rough and tough, they invested their time. Trust me, beginner players in my own corp said they prefer never leave high sec, each had grown bolder over time, and they now fit ships expecting or looking for trouble, ready to PVP. They all had grown up. I’m so happy : )

If you entered lawless space then you made that choice to enter there. You and they are now fair game to fight and CONCORD isn’t coming.

You wrote you have use of only one arm. NEVER let that stop you from playing EVE. I totally understand and expect you modified and limited in your ways playing. I’m disable too. If I had figured out how to play EVE, then so can you too. I play daily. In my few forums and feedbacks you’ll read and discover I’m blind.
