I wonder if ChatGPT could come up with a solution for this, the game is clearly dying.
Relax wardec restrictions. Let bots be made targets of „legal“ PvP which does not require suicide ganking.
Increase CONCORD response time so new forms of lower DPS suicide PvP can be created and make Void Blaster catalyst suicide ganking a minority. Targets can survive the lower DPS versions, as there’s also more time for reactionary skill of defenders and their friendly forces (logi) and escalation, benefitting defenders more. More „I survived a gank“ stories. It gives newbies new to suicide ganking more options as well. Bots are penalized for being uncreative in such a dynamic environment.
But most „Ganking is a problem“ people ignore these 2 very obvious fixes because it is so counter intuitive to the underlying goal they really have: remove PvP from high sec.
Nice input
I don’t think I agree with all of this. If you reduce response times only, it would just mean people would take fewer catalysts to a gank. They still are a cheap, high DPS ship so there is no real reason to change. I could see getting the effect you are after by adjusting how Concord responds, similarly to how a normal (uncoordinated) mixed fleet would arrive. You get fast small ships on grid first, who would do maximum damage to smaller ships like the catalyst but less damage against something like a Tornado. Then you would get medium and eventually large ships on grid. Also, this would mean that CCP would need to adjust Concords damage and application such that a frigate can’t one shot a battleship and a battleship can’t one shot a moving frigate.
This would make larger ships viable without just making smaller ship more viable.
I believe the idea is increase risk - ganking afterall are pvp in a way - at the moment it seems more griefing if I look at zKillboard more than ganks that are worth it. Therefor keep the game player base growing - not decimate it as are the current status quo. Please correct me if blonde (that would be nothing new lolol)
The Prophet sees your obvious intent.
The only grief there is, is the grief you lament here.
The weak being culled is not spreading grief. It is a gift. Those that die screaming in space will either adapt or perish.
The Prophet has seen what can befall those who wish to learn the ways of our fathers. The key is understanding why so many want that not to happen.
The Prophet’s words are always true. Not since Gheinok has there been such a one as this.
