I WAS A CODE. SPACE BULLY

This is not a thread about CODE.

Isn’t all threads about Eve just another way of expressing love for Code.?

It’s often said that those who hate God are secretly searching in their hearts for the Truth, but their own ego and pride prevents them from accepting a higher power.

I do hate God but my search is more to become übermench. And in a philosophical way aren’t we all doing this, especially Ward. He seems to work hard with himself and just because we don’t have the same opinions I still have to give him credit for taking the battle with his inner demons.

But I also have to say that I always will be a loyal servant to James, and the banned heroes of the order will never be forgotten.

Also if the dam “kiwi” is reading this, you are missed but it was a really stupid move you guys did there

Actually, regarding legitimacy, I’m the only one of the three of us not banned from the official in-game chat of the New Order even today. Even after all my mails, this post and months of treason lol, and just as has been for ages, Aiko and Tweeps are banned. Maybe I will be too soon. Not yet tho…

This post can be explained by a partition of players into those who (can) keep two faces and those who can’t/don’t. If you can keep two faces, your real Self and the New Eden Self (NES? lel), then you understand that you’re the villain New Eden needs and you don’t let it bleed into your real Self. In order for the economy to work, LOSS, after the saltiness and drama, needs to be acceptable in this universe. CODE., while certainly not the sole effector of loss and the emotions that come with, is a vital part in teaching the high-sec community and those that pass through that they are never safe from loss.

The harassment can be considered RP to make it more clear to both yourself and the parties involved that this is just ‘play’-hurting. Like some sort of BDSM. The pain is real, but the intention and motivation isn’t actually to hurt. You can’t be blamed for the targets inability to cope with loss, right? You’re giving them all these opportunities in what is essentially an innocent environment. I could counter my own argument here and say that the evils from within the game seep into the real world. You could be causing mass shootings for all you know. Anyhow, I choose to believe in freedom of will, but I also know how much I can push an individual and this is insight not everyone acquires naturally. In the case of these targets, in this very anonymous environment, you simply don’t. You don’t know them on any level except that they play EVE and maybe pinpoint some specific play-style coupled to their preferred type of play. So you can’t predict the outcome, you can’t predict their mindset, their resilience, their behavior. That might be dangerous. I wouldn’t go rub salt in the wound by convo’ing/mailing them either. The loss in itself should be a lesson. Everything following that should, imho, be viewed through that same lens. Confront the meek with loss and teach them about the value of loss in this universe when they fail to see the bigger picture and the opportunity for learning.

And, understandably, if wearing The Mask, like many a superhero and sometimes villains, becomes too much of a yoke, a burden on your real Self or exposes you too much to your own flaws and you’re lacking in ways to deal with that, then putting off the mask or putting on a new one may indeed help.

All the best.

(I don’t know you, I’m not affiliated with ganking in any way and yes I’ve been ganked a few times in my early days as a miner / industrialist).

Stuff that’s funny in-game isn’t always funny in real life

Like code killing miners is funny, agers killing minors less so

This is sort of what I’m saying. I’m all for a villain in the sandbox or many. I intend to gank, extort, war on and maybe even scam people to whatever extent I’m able in eve still. I’m certainly not saying I think what CODE. does needs to be banned. I’m for freedom of speech.

All I’m saying with this post, is that I’m using my freedom of speech to say that along with the good and beneficial roleplay and villainy, there is a lot of unnecessarily over-the-line follow-up trolling, making fun and that there are a lot of people at CODE. that really enjoy making their victims upset. What do you think we spent all of our time laughing at? Who gets rewarded by getting their stories published? The person who gets a high value targets sometimes, but usually the person who made their mark most upset and got angry content.

The problem with the villain rationalization is that although the game needs villains, and CODE. has performed amazingly, innovating tons … well it still doesn’t make the bad behavior not need to be pointed out as bad behavior. It’s too easy to get into black and white thinking, but sometimes things and people are more complicated.

Anyway, I’ll let James have the floor to show you that maybe I actually do know what I’m talking about…

That is basically what we tell them all the time to get Code compliant. Thanks for doing James’ work!

This will maybe sound that I lecture you, but most gankers are permanent -10 so they are always fair game. And the hobby gankers that just gate camps well they get rid of the kill rights in another way can you guess how?

Most CODE. are -10 meaning they can be shot by anyone at anytime in Highsec. We used to laugh and post it in chat when gank victims would make their kr on us available. In one fleet, just to troll them, before ganks we’d all activate any free kr on each other, so that when we got concorded, the owner of the kr would get a notification thinking we died because of them.

The only gankers kr are going to be a problem for is some of the nado gankers and such that repair their security status and wait around in space.

It is very interesting to read the perspective of someone who joined so late in the game.

Also, James doesn’t personally accept people to the Alliance… Kinda just shot your credibility in the foot there… I now have the impression that you don’t know the basics of how our alliance is organized, so I’m forced to wonder how much experience you really have with CODE.

Dear Mister Pig!

I must urge you to not reveal the secrets of Code. Of course, James is the one that admits people into the alliance.

A Saturday prayer for D400 and “The Kiwi” :candle:

James allows anyone in the alliance by being a very hands-off leader.

Speaking of which, I used to think you guys were full of it when you talked about “bot-aspirants”, then I ran across a group of players doing a COSMOS site in Deltole. I know they’re actually people instead of bots because one of them responded to my questions when I talked to them in local, and I don’t think any of them ever sleep.

They just keep killing the rats in the site all day long, leaving it littered with hundreds of yellow wrecks. It’s essentially impossible for me to do that COSMOS site and complete the missions there because they kill everything too quickly.

Now I understand what you mean by that term.

Isn’t posting in-game chat against the forum rules, or am I misremembering?

What am I even looking at here?

AND WTF IS THAT?!

This is a pretty accurate summation of people’s in-game behavior. Some can separate themselves from their character, while others are incapable or unwilling to do so.

Thankfully, none of CODE. are actually school shooters. Which makes it all the more cringeworthy when someone acts like they are

What’s with the cut-and-paste? Just link the article(s) they came from. Or are you just taking the words out of context so you can twist them? Edit: Yeah, that was rude of me. Sorry, @Aiko_Danuja.
