I WAS A CODE. SPACE BULLY

I refer you back to the post I was responding to:

I am glad to hear you are not in that group and are enjoying the content.

I like catching gankers on gates and using HIC’s or faction scram HAC’s to frustrate the Tornado gankers and if I get lucky they go for it and I get to kill their looters. I every so often, if I can get enough players interested…, dabble with some of the excessive multi-boxers, but I avoid Australian Excellence because of his foul mouth and toxicity, this is a game after all.

Without bumping I think it is fine, there are irritations but nothing major. I criticised the content of freighter ganking because of the bumping and with that sorted it is OK content, now if we could just get it so players have to gang up rather than crazy multi-box then it will be perfect.

But you should note that many gankers think I am in that sub group, I thnk the player you quoted does, when my issue was always the lame mechanic known as bumping.

The only thing that is really left is mass multi-boxing, but that is not just an issue in terms of ganking, I think the multi-boxing ice mining fleets are even worse.

Yeah, because ruining other’s gaming experience is a noble act. No, you don’t make the game better by ganking people, not even a bit.

That is the game - back to Hello Kitty for you…

Speak for yourself. The absence of it would make the game far less interesting.

It doesn’t need to be noble. It is a valid type of gameplay.

Define “better”

Would you describe @Australian_Excellence as a “CODE. Space Bully”?

No I would not, foul mouthed braggart is how I would describe him.

So you don’t believe there are any CODE. Space Bullies?

Define bullies please. It is not a great word to use in terms of this context as this is a space game based on violence, by the very definition of the game you will bully people.

Well, you said that Australian aka Loyal is the worst of us, and you don’t see him as a bully, so I would logically conclude that you don’t feel any of us are bullies.

Let’s say you’re playing chess. You decide you want to arrange your pieces in a nice pattern. You’d like to move your rooks to the middle and have your king and queen sitting on imaginary thrones just behind, while the knights prance around outside in the courtyard. Your opponent takes your queen and checkmates your king. Your gaming experience is ruined! You should be able to play how you like and still win. The your opponent is a bully. You appeal to the chess authorities to change the rules. You go on chess forums and complain.

Or you could play the game. You might enjoy it. It’s pretty good!

I asked you to define bullying for a reason, what would you define as bullying in the context of Eve? Would you take CCP’s definition of harassment as bullying, you know the one where you gank people and then follow them around ganking them no matter where they go to escape you and that they have no intent to fight against you. As I accept personal animosity as a good reason to fight in this game I find it difficult to accept even that as bullying.

In fact my point of view is pretty much close to gankers like most of the AG players I know. This is a combat game, conflict is the game. If people feel bullied by in game conflict then stop playing.

I am of course not making any comments on directed wind ups and stuff after ganks, but even that in context of a game, is that you play the player to lose his temper thus making him make mistakes. Perhaps the issue is that some of you get more joy from their response than the in game fun that derives from that play, many people find that hard to deal with at times. As I am quite used to doing this myself in past games I don’t see it as bullying as such, just playing idiots.

So you just wanted me to spend some time replying to you. Did you win Eve with that play?

Well, since I specifically asked if you feel we are CODE. space bullies, and you have now twice stated that you do not feel we are bullies, would it be fair to say that even antiganking betabears believe that Viirilithizu Ward is a goofus?

Are you asking me if the out of game stuff, emails and other stuff:

You need to ask him whether he defines you as a bully as he made that comment. So he thinks you were bullying those people based on your feelings and attitude.

Personally I think that what he said there defines you as being wankers when you act like that, but only if it was to get at them emotionaly and not to get a further advantage in game. Does that help.

Well, it looks like you have thrice denied that we are CODE. space bullies.

I suppose that does clarify things.

You still have not defined what you mean as a bully in terms of Eve.

Don’t forget he said this:

He was more upset at forcing Eve players out of Eve and this was what he was sorry about.
