Not filled with a great deal of confidence by today’s two posts on the launcher about Jita gate damage and the next event being “Warpath”. Stinks of the Trig nonsense of forced disruption and artificial conflict whether one wants to participate in it or not. Once again, the idea of a sandbox fading fast…
Your sandbox play is to build a sand castle. Mine is to kick yours down. Both are valid and endorsed by CCP.
Moronic reply missing the point, as usual. You can already do that, does not need an artificial mechanism to disrupt the game for those of us not interested in PVP.
Couple people on these forums don’t appear to know what a sandbox video game is. Events happening in game do not make it a linear game. It is still a sandbox. Please, for the love of God, learn what words mean before you use them.
EVE Online was governed, manipulated, influenced, changed and restricted from day one. CCP always intervened whenever they wanted. And they will continue to do so. So absolutely nothing has changed. Your decisions within the given (and sometimes changing) rules and limits of the game are still free. Enjoy your “sandbox”.
If it’s anything like the Trig event, it’ll be limited to a handful of systems and you’ll get ample warning it’s about to happen in yours. If it does, just move to another system. They’re not going to mess with Jita, way too many people have way too much stuff stored in that station.
I’ve got my fingers crossed for a lowsec DMZ between all empires.
Except that is exactly what they seem to be suggesting by today’s post…
The gates are still up.
The reality is that, as cool as it would be for the event to centre on Jita, there’s no way they can risk it. Turn Jita into Drifter-Pochven and hundreds of players will quit over the trillions worth of assets they’ll have locked away in the biggest hellcamp there has ever been.
Would not be the first time CCP change things that move major market hubs. Remember yulai used to be what jita is now.
And there was a lot of nonsense peddled about how the Trig invasion would reinvigorate the three other main hubs… did not quite turn out that way, especially with Amarr once the Niarja route was killed.
If it’s going to be the same grind-hell, repetitive-idiocy, predetermined outcome mess that Trigshits were, it’s going to be such a great deal of fun.
i dont think niarja was predetermined. players just didnt fight hard enough. too many people didnt care or participate in any way.
Niarja was predetermined. Just like this whole crapshow was originally intended to go to 81 systems but CCP cut it short after player frustration mounted to skyhigh levels after all the buggy crap they dumped on us during the period and refused to fix.
Spooky that one of the defeated Presidential candidates was supposedly all in favour of a war with the Caldari, does not win, yet here we are with an imminent war… CCP just cannot help themselves, can they?
there have been many arguments about it, with only players deciding it was predetermined. I don’t recall anything from CCP saying that it was impossible to win.
After all the crap they pulled with the Caldari side of the Trigshits Invasion, they would be absolutely dumb to say anything one way or another.
Oh come on, they were never going to admit that! Oooooh, all, you players who took part were playing a fixed, rigged game… that was a good use of your time, was it not?
next 3 expansions are about empire wars.
Whether gallente puppet politician won or not wouldnt change that. Sore loser puppet politician could have turned terrorist for all we know.
Besides that, I recall hearing about a little known secret new system hub that is coming where all 4 empires are working together on some levels so that new capsuleers can learn how to space.
They learn how to play Hello Kitty Online in that region.
