Impending Warpath event

good use or not, people had fun even in losing.

It was a pretty big event. Players won several systems but just fell short with niarja.

Some of us hated it, as self-evidently rigged, and just catering to one part of the player base.

no matter what happens, some people will hate it.

Was it?

To me it seems CCP only predetermined 27 systems would fall into Triglavian hands and that Triglavians would attack a list of systems much larger than 27, which included Niarja.

Players fought over Niarja and decided the outcome for Niarja. If players fought different in Niarja some other system would’ve joined Pochven.

I hope so too!

This update has a lot of potential to shake up HS.

Yulai as new first trade hub for newbies to enter HS means less Caldari dominance and less reliance on making Jita equally available to all newbies.

With Yulai and Exordium to give newbies a safe place to land in the game CCP can finally afford to cut up HS into four quadrants without creating a big bias for one faction or another.

That would be fun. Especially for Exordium as it then would be on a small high sec island. :joy:

Luckily newbies can choose which high sec island to be shipcasted to from Exordium, right?

Once. A tradehub does not work on a tiny island. Crux is cut-off from the rest of Amarr by low sec already, and it would be further cut-off from Gallente space after such a DMZ gets established. Which also impedes any real hauling going to this place.

So, have fun with your DMZs.

Each island would get it’s own local trade hub, I suppose.

It saddens me a lot I have to believe this is true, I was not here since day one, but the evidence is clear.

Idiots like me are induced to believe the game is player made, our fault, it’s player influenced.

I only regret paying 3 months, all the rest is fair game. At least CCP taught me to control my anxiety, I should have tested more before jumping into the ship.

At least now I don’t try to change things, just go with the flow… Kinda pointless to complain on forums.

The stories in EVE are for a large part player-made. What you do and what you encounter in a day is player-made.

The game itself obviously is not built by players but designed and built by the developers. Don’t let that disappoint you, they made a nice sandbox space game that we can make our own stories in!

Going with the flow is not a bad idea!

Complaining on the forums is rarely useful, but sometimes it can be. Just pick your battles well.

Less of a trade hub, more a flea market then?

I don’t see how anyone could claim Niarja was predetermined. We fought hard to win it for the trigs, it’s one of my proudest moments in this game, thanks to the lasting impact it has had.

Every time someone cries about it on this forum, I smile.

EVE is not one big sandbox, but a collection of sandboxes, some more sandboxy than others. If you want a true sandbox, look to nullsec and WH space.

Highsec and lowsec, being owned and run by NPCs, are more story-driven areas of space. CCP needs to progress that story to keep things fresh. IMHO, highsec has been stagnant for far too long.

The problem with the Trig Invasion, and I think the reason CCP pulled back on it, was that it was almost impossible to implement in a way that didn’t adversely impact very new players. Most experienced players at the time were either participating in the conflict, going neutral with both sides, or simply working around the affected systems. New players, who didn’t know what was going on, were wandering into Trig gatecamps and getting instantly obliterated (and they were understandably confused and dissatisfied by that).

Exordium solves this problem, and once it’s in place, CCP will have the freedom to shake up highsec with more of these storyline events. Done correctly, these things will make highsec a more interesting place to play. According the last numbers I saw, the majority of players live in highsec, so making highsec more interesting is probably a good thing for player engagement and retention.

Seeing all these recent announcements, I’m cautiously optimistic about what’s coming for Empire space.

No one here is crying, and you are just confirming yourself to be the second worst narcissist in these fora.

Triglavians were so good that lots of people did the trick to be positive with both sides.

Not sure if it still works, never tried. To me, the mechanics are totally ok, like Anna said, players wanted it and fought for it. But the horsecrap about adjacent systems and no warning being pop’d was not cool at all.

Anyway, no point predicting the future, let it come.

A lot of people actually liked this.

I heard that if TEST didn’t join in, the Goons would not have joined in. Niarja fell because of TEST :stuck_out_tongue:

More interesting, or more disrupted? The reason people stay in HS is because they don’t necessarily want constant PVP, but want to pursue industry or trade or lowish risk exploration. You might sneer at that, but CCP would do well to remember, despite all the constant propaganda and trite nonsense trotted out here, that these people are a majority of their player base and a majority of the company’s revenue. If people want conflict, they can leave HS. The fact that they do not indicates that actually they do not want conflict, save dodging the odd ganker.

Says you… who of course conducted a rigorous survey of CCP paying customers?

High sec is huge, they can move to avoid PVP.

I’m not claiming most or all or any other adjective, just a lot.

Aw, you do love me.
