In-Game Eve Fitting Tool - Not Using Multispectrum Shield Hardener I Resistances

The Multispectrum Shield Hardener I is supposed to give 22% increased shield resistance to all four damage types (yes I have skills to use it). It is not factoring in these resistances in the Defense Drop down box. So it appears to not be installed at all.
I do have a Damage Control II installed in my low slots that is registering in the drop down box.

So what’s up? Doesn’t work with Fitting Tool. Doesn’t like Damage Control II? Works but doesn’t register?

Probably a graphics bug, they’ve been happening a lot lately.
Some modules don’t show as fitted even though they are, some damage doesn’t show even though they are… I’m sure your Multispectrum shield applies resistance, it just doesn’t show… today. Tomorrow will be a different story, different bug.

I just tried it and it works.

Added a multispectrum Tech1
EM 44 → 57
Thermal 92 → 94
Kinetic 80 → 84
Explosive 82 → 87

That is the Defense drop down
Show Info when I mouse ove rthe pop-up show Multispectrum Hardener I with a down arrow :grinning: but the numbers vary slightly. I figure a rounding error of plus/minus 1

Not sure of the numbers due to clone’s implants, ship and rig bonuses, and anything else that might be impacting.

So, clear cache and try again?

Ok didnt realize it could be buggy or hold old data… Ill try clearing the cache and see what happens.

Keep in mind that the Multispectrum Shield Hardener is an active module, unlike the Damage Control which is a passive module.

Are you in simulation mode and did you activate it? It should have a green outline if you do:

Not active:

Active:

Notice how the Multispectrum Hardener got a green outline when activated in simulation mode and my resistances are also higher because of it.

The Damage Control cannot get activated, as a passive module it’s always giving it’s resistances to your ship if equipped and not burned out.

And you can also overheat the hardener for even bigger resistance bonuses:

Just don’t overheat modules too long, they can burn out your modules and other modules near it, turning them offline until repaired.

Actually powering it on or off, resetting the cache, or anything else I tried didn’t work. I loaded my config in another program, I think Theorycrafter (please don’t tell me to use PYFA - blah!), anyway the module finally showed up.
So the conclusion is - I don’t know why it isn’t showing up, but at least its working.

Thanks for everyone throwing out ideas on this.

Glad you managed to get the Multispectrum Shield Hardener to work!

Just wondering, did you only power the module on and off, or did you also try activating it? You can turn all modules offline or online but active modules need also to be online and activated for their benefits to work.

Did you activate simulation mode in the ingame fitting window? You cannot simulate activated modules in the regular fitting mode, you need to be in simulation mode to do so:

(Also what’s wrong with Pyfa? I’ve been using it for years with no issues.)
