This morning my cost to set up a job that I do every day was the usual 40k ISK, After the patch today the same job is now 112k ISK. I see nothing in the patch notes but this is a rather large increase. Anyone else seeing this?
May be due to the increase in System Industry Index?
This was my first thought, I checked and no change. I scouted around and found the lowest index possible, and that cost 80k to set up. Itās not possible to get it the old 40k anymore.
I checked some other items too, making an Omen used to have a cost of about 400k its now over 1 million so its not just my item either.
Checked from this morning on another character building at another station. Costs this morning, costs this afternoonā¦
This indeed seems to be the case. In my case the manufacturing install cost went up about 90% (nearly doubled).
Only possibility is the EIV went up. If my memory serves well these are calculated by CCP using a fancy formula. Thing is these are updated at random downtimes?
A few moments later
Found in todays patch notes, 22.02 - 2025-03-18
āThe Estimated Item Value for multiple items in the game in the manufacturing cost breakdown should now more accurately reflect the value of the finished product.ā
Ah well I see why I didnt see it, that was for the 12th?! So that doesnt apply to the change today?
EDIT - Just checked the EIV, itās the same as it has always been, the identical number to the materials calculation. Not sure this is the cause of todays change.
It seems like EIV has not changed but the way the manufacturing fee is calcualated has changed. Im surprised not more people have their pitch forks out, because it seems like the manufacturing fee to make for example a T1 battleship in Jita has gone from 20M to 40M.
Iām surprised too, I expected outrage at this change but its a whimper lol. Everything has gone up to crazy levels. I suspect most T1 stuff just had its profit removed, most cruisers for sure.
So nobody will produce them any more? Are we doomed? Is EVE going to die?
Really wasnāt going that far but there might be a knock on effect. I suspect over time that prices will compensate.
If CCP wants industry to move away from Jita they should provide means to do so. Raising the manufacturing fee is a lazy way to get people to move. But I dont even see what the problem is with industry being done in Jita in the first placeā¦
Even if the manufacturing fees is to try and remove ISK from the game its also a lazy way to do that. Its sad to watch?
Yup, coupled with the sales tax pretty much doubling this week has been a bit of a punch in the gut. The fact this one seems unannounced too kinda sucks (unless its the patch from the 12th actually now doing something since yesterday)
Iām still kinda hoping its some kind of bug, putting in two big costs changes in one week seems like a very bad idea.
There is probably something we are missing
Welp I use static calculation formulas for determining costs for manufacturing and results match what client manufacturing windows says.
Thus only thing changed is dynamic data retrieved from ESI API.
This is how central banking in fiat currency environment works. They are called taxes.
Yay CCP and their blind changes with zero purpose or reason!.. YAY!!!
āWrecking your gameplay one patch at a time.ā
Bring back NPC station build queues.
And limit slots + add queues to Upwell Structures a well. The current limitless production capability is ridiculous.
If they want industry to move away from Jita they should provide the means to do so. For example carrots.
But why do they want industry to move away. What difference does it make if a ship is made in Jita or one Jump away or 30 Its silly to micro manage like that.
We are treated like pawns that CCP move around and they are like ātime for these people to stop using EOS and start using battleshipsā and then they fudge some numbers to try and make that happen. But again what difference does it make if players fly Eos or battleship. Its a silly thing to micro manage. But whatever.
