With the Caldari destroying the Syndicate, it seems like an appropriate measure for those who manage to flee destruction to create a resistance organization to fight them. As such I propose a ship line using the Gallente hulls, that specialize in missile damage. (There is a president for this with the Tristan, before it was moved to a drone boat.)
I also want to suggest they are hull bonused with a high midslot layout. (Gallente ships have long had a high hull amount, but it mostly hasn’t been used for anything other than passive tanking - aka: honor tanking. Active hull tanking is mostly a joke.)
Gallente Frigate bonuses (per skill level):
20% reduction in hull module penalties per level (makes nanos not reduce hull hp, reinforced bulkheads not increase inertia modifier, and expanded cargo holds not decrease max velocity at max skill level)
x% bonus to hull repair amount per level (make this competitive with unbonused armor / shield repair.) Caldari Frigate bonuses (per skill level):
20% bonus to light missile and rocket velocity per level Role Bonus:
75% bonus to light missile and rocket damage
Gallente Cruiser bonuses (per skill level):
Armor Resistance modules also give hull resistance.
x% bonus to hull repair amount per level (make this competitive with bonused armor / shield repair.) Caldari Cruiser bonuses (per skill level):
5% bonus to Heavy Missile and Heavy Assault Missile explosion radius
5% bonus to Heavy Missile and Heavy Assault Missile explosion velocity Role Bonus:
75% bonus to light missile, Heavy Missile, and Heavy Assault Missile Damage
Gallente Battleship bonuses (per skill level):
Armor Resistance modules also give hull resistance.
x% bonus to hull repair amount per level (make this competitive with bonused armor / shield repair.) Caldari Battleship bonuses (per skill level):
5% bonus to Heavy Missile, Torpedo, and Cruise Missile explosion radius
5% bonus to Heavy Missile, Torpedo, and Cruise Missile explosion velocity Role Bonus:
75% bonus to light missile, Heavy Missile, and Heavy Assault Missile Damage
100% bonus to Shield Extender hitpoints
50% bonus to Armor Plate hitpoints
5% Additional bonus to Reinforced Bulkhead hitpoints
One issue you’ll immediately run into is the dearth of green, blue, and purple hull reppers. And I don’t think simply adding those modules would be a good solution either, because they’d only ever see use on this particular line of ship.
That is a good point. Could just work that into the balance. I did suggest the armor resist giving extra hull resist, was a really strong bonus (expecailly when a t2 dcu brings omni hull resist up to 60%,) so maybe limiting the active repair modules to t2 isn’t a bad thing.
That said, if active hull rep became an intaki / syndicate bonus, then putting some green mods in their associated lp stores wouldn’t be crazy. (I know the syndicate is going away… theoretically… but that storyline is still unfolding, so it’s possible it could come back in another form.)
Thanks for your comment though, I appreciate the input.
The other facet of this, is you wouldn’t be forced to active hull tank. You could instead forgo the ship bonus and active armor tank. You’ll still get the benefit of high hull resist for extra buffer, and can use the extra mid slot for something else.
not too sure on the stats but i would love to see some more hulls in eve, not like 1 or 2…
I think id be more in favour of a smaller unique line up, 3 frigates, 2 cruisers, 1 bc, nothing too special just different and based on a different mythological ethos that is further from europe. Indian perhaps.
Not really sure what would work with intaki syndicate in regards to ships but yes it would feel more appropriate them being an amalgamation of gal/caldari.
I’m pretty sure the established factions already have their backstory lore settled, but yeah, it might be interesting to find a separate area of space that has a new group of people. Indian or south American. Chinese, Japanese, and African descended peoples are already well established.
Or I guess it wouldn’t even have to be new space, just an area of space that was previously settled and is within the territorial borders of one of the main empires. They could do a whole storyline about that group of people seeking independence, and the birth of a new faction.
That definitely is something different. I would never, ever have a use for these at the price of a faction vessel when other options exist but this sure is a niche that is yet to be filled.
It just makes the environment more dynamic. Fast like a shield ship, yet still tanky, has most of its modslots free, and doesn’t suffer from sig bloom.
Seems a bit overpowered tbh, but it is a pirate ship, so it might be fine.
