Introducing Exordium!

Since when do you talk for CCP?

Newbie ganking is rare because such interactions are forbidden in specific system. If they leave these areas, they are free game.

What about these first ideas for Exordium ?

  • Anyone can access or leave Exordium but only with a special jump clones (no gates).
  • An Exordium trade center who don’t use isks but an other currency like EveMarks.
  • Something in public channels who auto hide isk spammers posts.
  • Exotic Ships and modules who can’t be outside Exordium.
  • Adapted visual structures for events only in Exordium.
  • Change Exordium for Exo-Sec.

I think your ideas would be better incorporated into an entirely different game.

a) As someone has suggested - Bumping is back. Also hundreds of scam freelance jobs at cheaper offices slowing down the Opportunities UI to a snail’s pace.

b) No yellow safety means no filaments for movement. 1.0 Security means no Abyssals. No PVP means no FW, and no Air Career Programme completion. No anchoring (if disabled) means no player structures for tethering or compression. Content?

c) Will current career systems outside Exordium retain their career agents, training signatures and other particularities like state-managed asteroid belts?

d) How does CCP plan to address possible escalations, missions and other incidental content that may take a rookie out of Exordium or other players into Exordium? (because we all know that you’ve barely ever addressed pathing issues regarding that when adding gate connections so far)

e) Will Exordium allow any usage of deployables at all? As in core mechanics like MTUs, Mobile Depots, Secure Containers. Cuz current starter systems don’t.

f) Besides the hauling through the shipcaster problem, will BLOBS, JF etc be able to jump out of Exordium?

g) When “outlawing” PVP in Exordium by simply forcing green safety please take the the “allow friendly fire” option in corp settings into consideration. Because we all know you’ll forget about that option, or its actual applications in game.

This Discord usage as information source absolutely sucks. They should focus on their own damn website to get their news on point.

It’s about time! Probably one of the best well thought out (I hope) updates we’ve had in a while.

A few things. We must protect new players from scamming, and those scam contracts or really trashy you double isk scams etc. This is super important. What a terrible experience a new player must get when the first thing they see in Jita is this. So must be stopped in the trade hub here. Like seriously otherwise all this hard work will be for nothing.

I get the sentiment on letting veterans in but I also worry about this. We have channels like rookie channel where vets can help. But I really worry about them being let in to run rampant, and I am sure some fkers will exploit it and spoilt it. I know its hard to manage but we need to find a way to protect from that.

Just reverse that stupid Equinox update and we can fix nullsec too

Fozzie stopped in and started answering questions, damn me for trying to relay that

I was thinking we could set up some real-life PvP training.

Allow veteran players to set up gate camps, and reward them with sec-status repairs for each target locked.

Obviously, since everyone is set to green, no harm, no foul.

But the reward of sec-status repair costs nothing, and is not enough of an incentive to corrupt the theme of the new players arena.

Idea could be expanded to other modes of PvP.

Per CCP Fozzie on Career Agents being removed
No, because we don’t want to disrupt the flow for players who started right before the expansion, and we also want the ability to potentially use the old flow for some tests to confirm whether this new space helps retention or not

In this expansion there’ll just be some tweaks and bug fixes for the career agent missions, not a bigger rework of them

Deployables and structures will be banned in this space. If jetcans become a problem we can look into solutions but we don’t want to block them unless we see a real need

Will merchants be able to sell there, and what, if any restrictions will there be on goods?

per ccp fozzie
Another thing that’s briefly mentioned in the blog but it worth highlighting: Exordium will have special taxes on most activities including on market trades, so I’d expect the trading within Exordium to resemble a supercharged version of the trading that currently takes place in starter and career agent systems. People bringing in goods to sell to newbies at a convenience markup (with increased compeition thanks to the increased volume)

I see a lot of very good questions being asked, a lot of them are ones that I was going to ask about… Some of the other questions are ones I hadn’t even considered…

Very good questions that are extremely important…
If anything, hopefully Concord response time is adjusted up for all High Sec systems so that the old 1.0 systems being changed to 0.9 still keep their original Concord response time..

Some more important questions… And to add:
Will all the old Career Agents stay in those systems so that current New Players and older Vet Players can still access them for Faction Standing increase?
Or do all those Career Agents just move to Exordium Region?
Also will the 12 new Career Starter Systems in Exordium have Career Agents that give Faction Standing increase?

Good question, and to add:
Will all types of Wormholes and Filaments be active in Exordium Region?
Also will all types of low level Cosmic Anomaly and Signature sites be included with the low level Ore and Hacking sites?

Definitely an important question.. And to add:
Will the Shipcaster in each of the four Embassy Constellation’s have a Hull size restriction? Especially since small Industrial Haulers are one of the many Hull classes rewarded by Career Agents…

Excellent question… And to add:
Will the Industry Services in the Exordium Region be available to all or will it be New Player access only?
If New Player access only, will the cutoff age be 30 Days old like Rookie Help chat?

Very good point… Maybe have the ‘No Tax’ be tied in with the Rookie Help chat which cuts off after 30 Days..

Yes indeed, excellent point… And to add:
Also I think Hypernet offers and Public Contracts should be included… That would help build up the Exordium Regional Market…
Speaking of which, I think that Market should be restricted to New Player skill friendly ships and modules to help alleviate confusion…

And I think that pretty much covers everything… Course I highly doubt we’ll get any answers, just like the current Event Log-in reward issue…

i’ve tried to post an answer to some of what you posted.. especially the career agents, they aren’t moving, fozzie said probably not at all. even in the future.
the ship caster is a one time use only..
I posted above about the market, similar to current starter systems,

interesting to note, the shipcaster is a one time use, but yet, @Mike_Azariah will be able to continue what he’s doing.. so maybe more than one ship caster can be used..

CCP Fozzie : One other thing I’ll note because I realize it’s not mentioned in the blog: the shipcasters from this space can only be used once per character (they’re intended as one-time-use shortcuts) to limit power projection issues

well shortcuts, so Yulai is the main connection that anyone can use to go in and out…

That answers my main concern, thanks!

well they can get in and out via Yulai.. but it will make it harder to do it that way, i mean they want people bringing in goods for the newbies, and allow mike to continue his thing.

The region seems excessively large. Not sure what people are going to do there, but they surely don’t need all that empty space.

they are starting in a small area, all new players together, then they can spread out.

I’m just saying that’s a lot of systems - for what exactly? They aren’t actually starting in a small area, they are starting in a fairly large area, I’m really not sure what CCP expects them to do with all that space. A smaller region would serve the goals better. There aren’t that many new players!
