I stand corrected, I guess there is a possibility for private raffles then.
However, raffles being private does not mean that CCP cannot trace them. This will still not make RMT any easier.
Best check it before giving feedback tbh. Don’t take people reporting back on how it works on Sisi as an endorsement.

Trying to come up with ways to exploit the system has been part of EVE for a long time. So I’m not surprised that people try to do so.
Do not mistake discussions of how people will be terrible to one another for endorsements of the same. People can discuss ‘here is how this will go horribly wrong’ without “embracing” that it should go horribly wrong. It’s kind of an important step in arguing against a thing, you know?

You only have 3 days time in the raffle, you wont sell 10.000 tickets costing 100m during that time. Also the max number of tickets is 512.
My math wasn’t off.
In your scenario you have a 40% chance at getting 60% of the pool + your item, or a 60% chance at winning only 60% of the pool and someone else wins your item. In the end the result is that you get 100% of your items’ worth. Except you’ve lost some value in the form of HyperCores to start the raffle.
You may get lucky, but the expected value of buying your own raffle tickets is negative.
So what happens after 3 days?
Lets say you had 100 tickets and they bought 99. The 3 day is over and you get back the item. Do you keep the isk for the tickets or the players get it back?

Yea, that’s the only good reason to buy your own tickets: to get the raffle started sooner. It’s not a smart move ISK-wise.
I can just see the spam lighting up every system with people desperate to finalise last minute raffles. That’s going to go down well.

This is just a disgrace CCP. This is NOT what you should be doing. You should never have even considered doing this, given your hatred for stuff like this in the past. You have shut down 3rd parties that provided this service. What about countries that have laws against online gambling?

Yes, yes it does. No matter which way you look at it, you have to pay real money to get those HyperCores, which means, CCP, you will fall foul of gambling laws.

Oh man. What are you smoking? Have you heard of PLEX before? It’s super gambling. Not that I really care because I wasn’t bothered by blink or whatever. But you could at least recognize that this is a form of gambling.
What an idiotic move. Instead of actually making this a simple replacement for contract selling, which would actually have been a nice feature you add yet another monetization scheme and on top of it it is literally a Casino!
