Well PA’s gone and added a Battle Royale arena to BDO but it doesn’t seem to be replacing the open world part of the game, yet.

Agreed, but of course, it doesnt help that the devs spend more time posting on reddit then they do on eve-o either.
If they want to keep this forum going, then perhaps they should take note and learn from how the devs interacted on this forum back when the game first came out.
Stating the reality is only salty for people that blindfold themselves because it would be inconviniend to see the full picture…

The percentage of multiboxers and bots vs actually active players is rising drastically and continually. Bots / multiboxers do not need to make forum posts. Even reddit is slowing down a lot, really a lot. All there is left there is the big blocks trying to e-peen, but with increasingly less effect and interest as they themselves are often the cause of the said multiboxing / botting and often either look the other way or downright support it.
So even on the days when you get like 26-28k players on the launcher, that is actually not even close to 26-28k players.

Forums are dead. Most EVE newsgroups are dead or dying. r/EVE is dying (many posters there no longer play). And most streamers have abandoned EVE for greener pastures.
Dust 514, Valkyrie, Gunjack and now Nova are dead. CCP has two lackluster mobile titles in the pipe which will also probably fail spectacularly. So other than EVE they have little to no revenue prospects.
In short: EVE is well past its glory days.
So yes, EVE is in its death throes. Player enthusiasm and optimism about the game is probably at an all-time low. Long-term players are quitting in droves and other than botting Alphas the F2P experiment has been an unmitigated disaster.
For every new player that EVE attracts one veteran EVE player vanishes forever. It’s trading a regular paying and playing Omega for a F2P trial player or bot that generates no income or content. Abyssal content, high-sec wardecs and a 64-bit client have all arrived (or will arrive) too late. FW is dead, low-sec is dead and even high-sec is stagnating. Wormhole space is on the wane. And without a source of new players null is not far behind.
It wouldn’t surprise me to see the concurrent player count drop below 20,000 by summer and continue a steady decline through winter. Once that starts happening you’ll see Omegas renewing for 1-3 months at most, Omegas dropping to Alphas and the price of PLEX go through the roof.
I give it less than a year before we see another mass layoff announcement from CCP. It wouldn’t surprise me if development has been slowly shifting towards Pearl Abyss and mobile content while CCP milks the last remnants of EVE.
The sad reality is that this game hasn’t been fun to play for many years now, and CCP has doubled down on the “suck” factor with their disastrous sov and structure overhaul. Many vets held on to the last glimmer of hope that things might turn around (“next year…”), but I don’t think that anyone harbors any illusions that since being sold to Pearl Abyss CCP and EVE have been in steady decline.

Their “eve is good as it was since 2003” mantra has to be sung regardless of people leaving…it’s the only thing they have…no reaosn,no arguments,just that…
In some way this is sad,but also funny because they jump into the spiked pit in the fullest conviction that they -and only they- are right in their war against changes…
well—i’m aware that i’m also fighting a holy war against them…but mine is based on the things that are market compatible 2018/2019 and NOT 2003…

I can only assume people didn’t read OP’s name and thought you’ve been insulting him for no reason… maybe I am just naive and/or wishful thinking this. 
Though there is a basis for this, namely my personal experience, as first I didn’t see why you posted such a harsh thing though instead of knee-jerk reacting to it I’ve checked the OP again and noticed his name and it became all clear what happened and why you wrote what you did.
