Is EVE Online a fair game?

Sure, if you come to eve with the ONLY thing you want to do is fly titans. Then that might take a little longer.

But even that is not that bad, considering we have skill injectors.

I wish people who don’t know how to play eve, would stop spreading all this misinformation.

Look. Sure there are some activities that requires a bit more skills than others, which in turn means it takes more time to get into. But telling new players, they will never have fun or be useful because they can’t “catch up” to established players is just wrong.

I agree. But in other MMOs, how quickly can a player with concerted effort get up to “level cap” and start participating in “end game” content with the big shots? If someone unfamiliar with the game asked how long before they could fly the most powerful ship in the game, you would probably have to tell them “forget it”.

I wish people that ignore half the post they’re responding to for the obvious ploy their teeny tiny ego is forcing them into would learn how to forum without tolling.

The problem is, thinking that you can only be useful if you sit in that titan.

There are many other jobs a new character can do in a fleet, other than being that titan pilot.

Like I said, there is no progression tree in eve. Just because you can fly a titan, does not mean a frigate is somehow less important.

So me trying to explain to you how eve works has something to do with me ego? Ok…

If you can’t have a discussion without mud throwing and trolling, then I don’t really have time for that.

Fly safe o7

You need to learn it before you can teach it. So yeah, you’re having an ego problem.

Eve online is only fair to the people that do not cry over every problem
this game you have to swallow your own tears and sometimes eat a big helping of crap

If you think EVE is unfair, go out there and make it unfair for everyone else but you.

Or you could come to the forums and complain that the game and other players are the problem, instead of your lack of impetus.

Give a toddler a four inch Howitzer to go up against the 23 year old hoodlum with a zipgun.

'Cos fair’s fair, right?

EVE is just fine as it is, I am still having unlimited fun flying my damp- nerd T1 frigates on small gang/ fleet roams. A ten group of us caught a 350M cruiser just some time ago!!!

How many 600-men alliances in the game?
How many of these have 600 real pvp-ers?
How many of these actually care about some random 5-men corporation?

Are you really sure you are talking about realistic situation?

Reality is that big bully (big wardeccers) is always taking candy from a child (small, weak corporation). There are many small childs and few big bullies, still.

But as I wrote earlier, and what you didnt quoted, child can just leave and dont appear in the sandbox at all, or go somewhere alse and decide to get candy from some other people (other game), where are no such bullies.

Minimal levels of welfare still does not deal with following (taken from quoted post):

  • lifes not pre-determined by daddies wallet
  • diseases healt when it’s possible, not just when one can afford it

In some ways you will really never catch up.

  • You will never be first owner of Titan (and first killed in titan for that matter)
  • You will never be first corporation or first alliance ever created
  • You will never be first person to deploy outpost in 0.0-sec space (actually you will never be owner of one because they were replaced by citadels)

That’s the reality of every longstanding system - no matter how good you are if you haven’t joined at the start some things you will never catch.

What? you are telling me that i’ll never be a roman emperor? Damn life is unfair!

Roman emperor? Dude, you’ll probably never see what the real world looks like more than a few miles outside your trailer park. At least you get to steal the neighbors WiFi or you’d be making babies with your cousin.

You watch way too much Jeremy Kyle.

Besides which he’s technically French, in the way that Falkland Islanders are British.

Projection?

Pretty much, a bit more tropical.

The Falkland Islands are tropical…

If you live in Siberia.

The place is like Wales, it’s full of sheep, the weather is crap and they hate the neighbours.
