Is it all about pvp?

No, because you compete with other users for the resources. Again: Potentially not immediately, but someone else who comes later has fewer asteroids to mine or lower yield from a particular rock because you started mining it.

So what is PvE in EVE?

Give 3 concrete specific examples of what is a PvE activity/action in EVE.

This to JC also.

as i said i havent seen a definition of pve that includes mining or harvesting resources
only definitions ive seen state pve is competition against ai controlled npcs
as for mining rocks irl its not pve as rocks are not ai controlled npcs
it is competing against other humans though
think of a disused goldmine
there is a limited amount of gold in the world and 200 years ago someone mined that gold and secured it for themselves
now the mine is dead and no one else can mine the gold

Thats their situation in PvE, as what is left in the environment to harvest.

I don’t see why I should give 3. One is enough: The interior or Abyssal space.

For everything else, I can think of lots of ways how PVP is involved. At first I thought R&D Agents would be PVE as well, but you need minerals for their missions (which comes from PVP) and you need to transport things for them (which involves PVP). Hence, I will only give you one example because to my knowledge there is only one example of pure PVE in EVE.

Their harvestable environment was impacted by PVP.

So Abyssal Space is the only PvE in EVE?

So PvE did not exist in EVE till Abyssal Space was launched recently?

Interdasting!

The interior parts of it, yes. Pure PVE, that is. All other forms of “PVE” in EVE involve PVP in stronger or weaker manifestation.

well the filaments often come from the market still

The filaments dont come from the market.

They come from players sourcing them from the environment that produces them.

oh i thought they were bought and sold on the market
my mistake

They are bought and sold on the market.

They do not come into EVE from the market.
They come from players sourcing them from environments in EVE which provide them as a reward.

Do. You. Understand?

As said, only the interior part. In those abyss spaces, you do not compete with other players over a limited number of traces or rewards because no other player can enter your abyss space area. In contrast to, for instance, DED signatures. As soon as you are out of that space, it is PVP again.

You avoided my question.

i understand that if i buy something from the market then it came from the market

For abyssal space to be pure pve you have to bring nothing out of it (maybe other than filaments for next dive just for your own use) and use nothing at all while doing it (t1 energy crystals?).

No, I did not. I clearly said that Abyssal space is PVE. I also clearly explained why I only see 1 example for PVE in EVE. I just made sure that you understand my point correctly.

Lol.

Amazing…

So you think filaments magically appear on the market for sale/purchase?

You dont think maybe they involve a player either hacking a AI can, or completing an NPC Abyss pocket to acquire them for sale?

Jesus, please spare me from such stupidity…

maybe they did
i dont care how it got there i only care how much i have to pay for it and how far i have to go to get it
so it comes from the market
but yeah my point is that pvp is involved in abyyssal space due to market
im not sure why you are getting so pedantic about it
what is your point here

I entertained that thought as well for a moment, but discarded it for sake of simplicity. You are right, though. The tools for running abyssal space also come from the market, which is PVP.

Clearly not.

Ignorance is bliss.
