Is it really about our health?

(Warning: sarcasm ahead)

Specially not the ones who want to prevent deaths through vaccination. Without vaccination, people needed to have more children to cover for the 50% mortality before the age of 15. Thus, less children = less people! It’s a plot!

Just think of how many children people isn’t having because they would just survive! Vaccination is anti-children! It’s quality over quantity! It’s… elitistic! Who wouldn’t have 6 children to keep 3 rather than have 3 and keep them all alive, like some precious snowflakes?? Are they too good to bury some of their children, them vaccinating elitistic monsters???

(Final note: that’s not as sarcastic as I can get, but let’s assume someone has been lied to and is kind of misguided…)

For all yourcooking needs, use olive oil. :olive:

That’s still engine lubricant according to many here in my neck of the woods(no pun intended) if it is not “extra virgin” grade.

I buy a 18 liter(4.75 gallon) tin can once a year, like the one in the photo, and pour it into smaller bottles as often as I’m using. I know neighbors who do that too, so it is pretty common since it doesn’t go stale easily when kept under the right conditions.

Well, I only point the way to healthy eating. Those interested have to do their homework too. I’m not in the habit of serving everything on a silver platter :slightly_smiling_face:

Interesting thread, I think some people I see have good health and don’t put it to use. Others appear to be unhealthy, and they too swim in self pity, doing nothing about living their life. Life is about the living and not just sitting in some dark room, fearing what you will eat will kill you.

I won’t tell you my age other than, I am a grandma with my birthday this October, my age will be ending in a zero. If you guessed 30, how did you know? I don’t plan to Betty White or live forever. My father died at the age of 75 and mom went young at 64. They both didn’t care much about their health either, my dad was forced to diet, neither one exercised, and mom smoked. At least I don’t smoke.

I don’t diet or exercise either. I don’t burn the candle on both ends, I tossed it in the frying pan long ago, currently watching it melt like butter. I don’t have one foot in grave, heck, I am standing in it waiting for some passerby to fill it. So when kidney failure happened a few years ago, they hook me up to a machine 3 days out of 7 and filter my blood. Did you know, you stop going pee? I am lucky to see a teaspoon per day. I would be dead, if not for the advancement of medical tech. They gave me a diet. I didn’t stop eating foods such as, potatoes, tomatoes, milk, and bananas. I just eat less of them. No point telling them otherwise, once a month I get a report card about my blood contents.

I take a handful of pills every morning. I take my insulin injection and then there is dialysis every other day. I am sort of like the man with his credit over extended looking to buy the hot tub. Sure he could choose not to buy the hot tub and pay off his bills, but where is the fun in paying bills? Myself, I prefer to soak in the hot tub and enjoy the moment.

Have fun!

Life is about understanding ourselves and our environment so we can better take care of it. Eating healthy isn’t about the fear of dying, it’s about the hope of living.

That looks like a cheaper way to have virgin oil in store, I buy it by 1 litre bottles I keep in a dark and cool place and only fill an oil cruet from them as consumed. Also my parents buy refined 0.8 acidity oil in 5 litre jugs and use them to fill bottles for consumption, I eventually convinced them to better keep the jugs in a closet since the plastic is transparent (virgin oil is sold in green bottles to filter out light, but I take no chances because a bottle lasts me 2 to 3 months).

I grow my own blueberries. I don’t freeze them, because fresh blueberries are yummier. Also easier to chew.

That’s subjective, depending on one’s taste buds. You could also gather them, freeze them so they last longer then unfreeze them and eat them.

To eat healthier, focus on a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, while limiting saturated and trans fats, sugar, and salt. Incorporate lean proteins like fish, beans, and poultry, and choose healthy unsaturated fats found in oils and nuts. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and make healthy cooking methods, such as steaming or boiling, a priority to reduce the consumption of fried and processed foods.

Even though I don’t agree with your billionaire meme earlier and would like to differ with only 2-3 things of the foods listed in your latest “healthy eating plate” meme, I would like to thank you for citing your source and urge you to check your in-game EVE Mail and Wallet.

The doctor who hammered the olive oil concept into people’s head over here was a cardiologist named Prof. Canan Karatay. She’s known for her citing cutting-edge academic publication sources, shouting and chiding when she goes on every TV healthshow.
Her hospital profile page:

I couldn’t find any English news sources about her diet without advertising her book, except a 2012 newspiece:

I hope this starts a new trend in citing sources all over the internet.

The question is: How expensive is a healthy lifestyle.

I did receive your message and want to thank you for the help. It’s a big deal to me and so awesome! :face_blowing_a_kiss: Now I can pay for that Thermodynamics skill book!

Also, this character is my main and I only have one account. I do have another character as a scout/miner but she will remain hidden from the public, we don’t need to read her opinions

Rare or Well done? “Well done" refers to meat cooked thoroughly with no pink, while “red” typically describes a rare to medium-rare steak with a red or pink center. While well-done meat is safer against pathogens from undercooking, it contains more potentially cancer-causing compounds (heterocyclic amines). Conversely, meat cooked to a “red” state may harbor bacteria, but provides better flavor and juiciness.

Well Done (No Pink)

Definition:

The meat is cooked to 160°F (71°C) and above, with no pink color remaining in the center.

Pros:

Minimizes risks of bacteria and pathogens associated with undercooked meat, especially for poultry and pork.

Cons:

Significantly less flavorful and juicy, as juices and fats are cooked out. It also contains more heterocyclic amines (HCAs), which are linked to a higher risk of certain cancers.

Red (Rare/Medium-Rare)

Definition:

A rare steak has a cool red center, while a medium-rare steak has a warm red center.

Pros:

Offers better flavor and juiciness, with high-quality cuts showcasing their natural characteristics.

Cons:

May contain bacteria, necessitating a higher internal temperature for certain meats like pork.

Considerations for Choosing

Meat Type: Poultry and pork should always be cooked well-done to prevent disease.

Food Safety: Use a meat thermometer to ensure meat reaches safe temperatures, regardless of your preferred doneness.

Health: Well-done meat has more potential carcinogens, while undercooked meat risks bacterial contamination. A balanced diet with fruits and vegetables is recommended alongside meat consumption.
