Is It Time to Disable Pod-Kills In Highsec?

There could be reasons that someone can benefit from the podding even if not from isk.

Causing monetary damage to the enemy. Sometimes to win in conflict you don’t necessarily need to ‘profit’, you want to inflict damage to your foe,

You could have many reasons someone becomes you enemy. They mined your moon or favorite system, they undercut you on the market, they own that annoying structure, whatever it might be.

Maybe they aren’t war eligible, maybe you don’t have the manpower to war dec or suicide them in greater ships. But you know they have juicy implants. At least you can damage them somehow. Or if they don’t have implants then at least send them home to have to make their long journey again.

This was one reason why I disliked the removal of the death clone fees. Because it made pods free it meant there was no penalty for death if not wearing implants. It means that after many fights people prefer to be podded to get home faster and reship. I believe the system should make people prefer to try and live and escape in their pod rather than prefer death. It also, for empty pods removed the ability to cause economic damage to them. In null, no longer can we damage the economy of enemies by killing their pods for the most part. In null they are usually empty.

But in high people feel safe and roll with all kinds of juicy implants. You can still cause economic damage to someone in high by podding when they have implants and this should be still legitimate game play.

Interesting suggestion

Podding by griefdec gankbabies is getting completely out of control. CCP needs to do something about this ASAP before the rest of the players leave this game (there are already so few left). In other games you would get banned for this kind of behavior. I’m dropping my last remaining 5 subs until CCP addresses this issue.

Unnecessary.

I don’t care what griefers like you think, thanks.

This is not true. Even if the clone was “empty”, losing it might cause an inconvenience to the player operating it, which is reason enough to claim compensation for getting concorded.

The null miners usually pay gankers to cause “disruptions” at their competition, especially when it comes to ice mining. Wrecking miners is good buisness when you get full replacement on your suicide dessie, a flat bounty for the kill, a bonus if your engagement results in losing security standings below -5 (to buy tags) and you can keep anything the miners drop, too.

Also, Capsules drop frozen corpses, and corpses sell for over 1M isk each. The corpse is in fact the most valuable drop in most ventures flipped.

Highsec ratters make good income trading missioning LP for implants they sell, or at least I have the impression they do so. If pods can’t get flipped, implant demand will perish and therewith income of the ratters.

I didn’t think about nullbloc-sponsored gankers, what a great idea! The money spent on the gankiers should return nicely as increased mineral prices!

I agree, pls @CCP_Stroopwafel (StrudelWaffeln) do something. You are the expert in the ganking area! the guy who understand how to defeat those griefers!
