- Yes
- Yes, and I’ve known all along
- Maybe…
- No
- No, and I couldn’t imagine it…
- [Funny option, incidentally discrediting the other available choices. Obviously only a CIA agent would pick this…]
Hello capsuleers,
you may or may not know me, I post here from time to time. I’ve had my run-ins with great and terrible forum posters in equal measure, and I’ve been keeping an eye on the development of this corner of the internet for a while.
Lately, I have noticed a strong uptrend with alts (that means alternate character, basically not your main character you are playing with), that have no history or meaningful interaction whatsoever, creating threads that are objectively just awful. And they also never participate afterwards in their own mess that they created.
Every single time it is either a point that has been rehearsed a billion times like ganking or “eve is dying!!!”. Sometimes they are uniquely terrible like that “allow alpha players to pay!!! ” thread, truly nauseating.
The question is, who is behind all of this? And why?
And you know what? I’m pointing my finger at “intelligence operatives”, namely CIA of course, because I heard a rumor once that EVE Online is indeed infiltrated and used as a testing ground for these agencies, due to its unique blend of sandbox environment and group dynamics.
Of course there will be those that will decry this idea. “Nooo, my government spies would never post god-awful takes like that! And they also have better things to do!!” - Please, these are government employees we are talking about here…
And if I am looking at these threads, that have these very obvious terrible ideas that are blatantly planted in these forums to make it appear like these are genuine opinions, you know, the boxes are starting to check.
This forum might be a freaky sociological experiment, where bad actors are shoveling garbage ideas in your face with the goal being to find out if and when you are going to accept them.
Of course this is just my initial theory, I have no proof, other than my unwillingness to accept that real human beings with no agenda would have created these threads, and continue to do so.
Is there merit to these claims? Do you personally know a CIA agent that has created an awful thread on this forum? Or do you have a wholly different lead altogether? Let me know.
With intelligent regards
