Indeed, if we knew that any God/god existed for certain, then it wouldn’t be faith.
But here’s the thing: She doesn’t. Neither do I. Neither does anyone who believes in something (or nothing) other than this Amarrian God. Because when we do, we’re belittled as “heathens” or even “heretics,” and we are treated accordingly in the eyes of Amarr.
I know what the next argument will be: Those are not the true faithful. Fine; that’s acceptable. But they have the appearance of being just as faithful, and they are certainly the louder of you, so from where I’m standing, you and Ms. Kernher are at the same level of “faithfulness” as an Erskin or a Dougans.
So, then, are any of us really free not to believe in the eyes of the faith? As was already said, an unbeliever who nonetheless lives in accordance with the highest principles would only be conditionally accepted by your God, depending on his “mercy.”
And meanwhile, those who exercise judgment against unbelievers continue to be allowed to represent the faith, which is a significant reason why we outsiders are so reticent toward this God in the first place. Maybe they should be the ones labeled and reviled as heretics.
