Job Cancellations are too punishing

im fairly fond of a father dougal meme but you can see the edit indicator on the post being 3, now i’ve deleted and re-edited, so thats 2, where did the 3rd edit go? mh?

What are you blathering about?

You’ll figure it out.

Anyway that being said. This post is about a poor UX experience that can be combated via portional returned investment based on time of the job OR by a better UX altogether, i.e. split the buttons into two buttons.

This is not comparable to PVP victims and is similar to the issue observed here: Reddit - Dive into anything

We see examples in the UI of mistake protection such as jump clones.

Lets use some basic intellect to not compare apples to oranges.

Yeah, when I discussed “miss clicks” earlier I was not talking about PVP, you assumed this and ran with it as if it were fact.

So if we’re assuming things, let’s assume you don’t know how a mouse works? In which case, it’s not the UI that’s the problem, it’s you.

So now it has nothing to do with job cancellations being punishing. Got it.

Oh and btw, it may not be as simple as you think to change the buttons around

job cancellations are punishing and I bet they cause more support issues than we know.

explain how changing the button into two buttons may not be as simple as I think?

Not if they have a fixed policy.

Just because there may be a fixed policy does not mean issues are not raised

Again. Don’t feed the trolls.

You’ll notice none of them are actual trying to understand your point, rather making stupid interpretation of what they claim you actually want - and of course always presented in a way to look own on you.

They are all pushing their agendas on off topic things while victim blaming and stupid interpretations.
They are not here to discuss. You are wasting your time if you believe the moderation is actually making the rules respected.

I’m sure people try to get away with lots of “poor UX” and file interesting tickets - this is EvE, right ? All the more reason to have firmly fixed policies in place for the appeals for leniency, and review process for the more serious cases.

Do you think any titan pilot was reimbursed for warping to the wrong cyno (a UI interaction) thus losing the ship to a camp - which is just about the costliest mistake anyone can ever make ? Or forgot to pay a sov bill and started a huge war that way ?

Just for contrast, here’s one old thread about the same subject Don’t ever cancel a Manufacturing job with a more acceptable outcome of the exchange.

Again with the apples to oranges. An individual accidently cancelling their own industry job will not cause a war. Cancelling an industry job will not directly cause a pvp fight. The only true 1:1 comparison I can think of is jump clones.

The thread you linked is a warning thread and not a discussion thread, also there is no outcome, the thread just dies. Note how someone also compared the mistake to that of the market mistake that I provided a reddit of support actually helping.

You must be trolling at this point.

The job cancellation was reimbursed by support.

I believe this increases the validity of this thread.

It would not surprise me if this is technical debt in their backlog and improvement in here would have the business value of reducing support load.

They would be more value by removing the trolls who prevent from exposing and discussing the issue with toxic victim blaming, repeated insults, context switching and stupid comparisons.
