Journal 1:
I remained in Station for several Days as my Mentor was gathering assets for my Career Induction.
Now after 10 Days of Piloting I have a strong suspicion that there is a substance about us in Space. Our Ships meet resistance & come to a halt naturally when not propelled. When turning, the Ships tilt & raise the nose as though resting on a meduim as it makes the turn, just like an Aeroplane on our habitable Planets, Aerodnamics in Space?
Sound can also be heard coming from the surrounding âVacuumâ, Mining, Station PA Systems, Ship Operations, Weapon Impacts and more can all be heard coming from the outside of the Ship. Again, this leads me to believe there is a substance in this âVaccumâ around us, although it will probably be unbreathableâŚto us Humans at least.
Although we cannot leave the Ship when in Space, I plan to find a way to test the outside Environment for evidence of a Gas or Gasses, possibly some kind of Atmosphere in this Galaxy, much like many of the Planets here.
No one in Space seems to mention this oddity and information about the Nature of our outside Environment here is very scarce.
If indeed there is an âAtmosphereâ of sorts, then we may have been lied to by our Empirical Authorities.
I will continue to update this Journal on the matter as I progress with my Investigation.

You must remember that you do not really hear space; what you hear is a simulation by the pod and the jack. The ship performs a lot of automation around your movement to make it more familiar and more easily adaptable to what you neural system is used to, to make you a more effective in controlling it.
So yea, you are lied to. Just not about the nature of space, but instead by your senses.
Youâll get used to it. We all did. Well, except the ones who quit.
Welcome to space.

Is this writen in the Literature or is this a suspicion that exists among Pilots? I have read on some but I cannot find anything that refers to this.
âLiteratureâ isnât always needed to clarify what is plain from context, pilot. Space is near-vacuum; whatâs there is too diffuse to effectively carry sound. Also, youâre not really hearing with your ears anyway. Your ears are nowhere near the hull (being deep inside with you in the pod and very likely full of ectoplasm) and youâre getting âsoundâ from outside the way youâre getting all your sensory data: through your jacked-in control rig.
So, yeah, itâs simulated.
As I think some wit put it long ago, âIn space, no one can hear you scream, but their pod can sythesize the sound for their listening pleasure.â

So after 15,000 years of being in this Galaxy, we havenât found a way to live in Space without simulating it, despite having a Space Station back on Earth. What exactly have we been doing here. Simulating everything? If our Ships move with Aerodynamics and meet resistence when not propelled, they are not in a Vacuum
Also, why would we simulate Space Travel, when Space actually is there and we can travel without simulation. The logic makes zero sense. There is a substance in Space that requires Aerodynamic maneuvers.
Also to point outâŚwhy do we go through 3 years of intense traning to be a Capsuleer, only to have it simulated anyways. That makes the training pointless, ya may as well get in a simulatorâŚI think this might have been a very big miss-allocation of Resources:)
All in all, I think the logic here is flawed and I dont believe a word of it..I shall continue investigations to find the truth of this matter.
It is not true space. In true space there is no orientation but in New Eden there is clearly an Up and a Down.
Warp from a gate in a high part of the solar system to a low point, and move your camera about as you go, you will see what I mean.
Itâs all a simulation. Itâs all for you. The gods have willed it and now it is.
