July Release - Strategic Cruisers

Changing Subsystems without any fitting service would be way too powerful. While people are complaining their ratting T3Cs got nerfed, the rig-swapping and new bay basically make it much more easy for them to get out there without getting catched, then use a mobile depot to refit for pve and extract from the area just as safe.

Let’s not kid ourselves, rigs are an integral part of most if not all fits - being able to change them within a minute basically allows you to bring two completely different ships at once and swap whenever necessary.

OMG LOVE IT ALL! Not joking, I haven’t had a chance to look through these changes before now but I am genuinely happy, especially with moving covert ops to defensive to free up for good cover dps fits. TYCCP!!

Reguarding the new subsystem bay, anyone able to expand as to why it has space for only three subsystems?

There must be some logic to it.

I must say what a spiffing outcome this is.

:parrotdad:

Yeah, because other than the tackle it wasn’t worth the fuel to bridge a T3 over 9 more bombers.

does the changes affects pve gameplay?

Unless 40% drop in eHP both from buffer and resists means no change…

…nope you are good.

Anyhow… do you think that is a bad change and puts it too close to Blops?

I think it opens up another role while not being too powerful. Because covert sub is bonused to active tank you either have to bling active tank it or go with buffer, but you’ll be getting maybe HAC levels of tank. So blops still do up to 60% more damage and have a lot more tank.

A the cost of exploration, fleet work and PvE.

But hey, HACs were already eclipsed by CBCs and ABC…which we weren’t supposed to compare to except that Fozzie did.

Hello. I need to say, thanks to CCP for keeping eye on my appearance suggestion ( https://meta.eveonline.com/t/119-7-tech-3-changes-and-more-now-live-on-the-test-server/6047/27?u=predator_ace ). And now Tengu appearance of Acceleration ejection bay subsystems looks exactly awesome. So, as Tech 3 (Tengu), pilot i need to say thanks for that

Disappointed in these.
Still going to oppress several T2 classes and BS’s.

Cost and sp loss are awful balancing tactics. Clearly, since they are standard doctrines and will continue to be.

Yeah I feel like a set of choices were made to make things look more spaceshippy. Feels good

I don’t understand why people are complaining about Exploration not being mentioned. It was, although more general and not only focussed on PVE Exploration. It would be better if you post specific fits/roles that you can’t do anymore, to even discuss in detail.

Out of boredom I just made a couple of pve explo fits and they look just fine - be it the nullified, cloaky relic/data runner with a nice alpha damage and neuts against possible tacklers - or the beastly tanky sleeper site runner. I’m not a pro so there is possibly something I am missing.

Of course people need to come up with new solutions, but has anyone ever promised you to fly the exact same ship for the exact same content until your intellect reaches the level of a roid? Isn’t this better, something new, something to play with? I am happy about the change, even with the necessary rocks on the way.

A refit using a mobile depot takes not more than 70-80 seconds, the changes currently in place to a large extend will open up explorers to being caught rather easily. While they are able to enter a system unseen and currently the refit would be fairly safe due to the general lackluster abilities of gate camps and fairly limited tactical insight of FCs running gatecamps. Once T3Cs will start showing up on Dscan for longer periods of time while knowing this is likely a refit that may change.

Having a 60 second timer on a refit without the need for a mobile depot would IMO be nothing more than a reasonable balance for the now created disadvantage.

I don’t understand what this “now created disadvantage” you are talking about is. Can you explain?

Anyhow… do you think that is a bad change and puts it too close to Blops?

Have you checked the requirements for flying a T3C vs a BLOP? These changes will result in 20 man (or more) fleets jumping in deploying 20K DPS in a matter of seconds… And guess what. CovOps Cloak is used in an offensive manner here…

It has been explained by me and several others a number of times in this thread. The changes now prohibit a T3C to be cloaked, nullified and be able to run top end exploration sites with enough tank while being cap stable doing it.

As these configurations generally will not be weaponized they will require a refit which actually still leave the fit not cap stable and then back again to extract from system. This leaves at least two more vulnerable windows where one can easily be caught.

Both Superior and Standard Sleeper Caches would be prime examples for sites which will now at best have an increased risk to the point they are no longer viable to be run.

So, propulsion subs were better before. We had nullification sub, warp speed sub and propulsion modules bonus sub. Now just two are usefull: nullification and prop mod subs. Give 10% on nullification subs and 12,5% on nano subs. Right now you don’t have any options too choose from. You wouldn’t have a problem with nullification subs if align time weren’t too high, now you’ll adress it with faster warp speed.

Still ways too many high slots on those.

Still hard to fit good pve exploration fit without bling mods.

Stratios is better and not a option here, I don’t care about HKs because all is FG talking about was HKs negleting other aspects of those hulls. So right now non combat explorers are f***ed. Week left, rage will come, fully understandable.

How about 1000 man (or more) jumping in and deploying 1 Trillion DPS? :darkbeerparrot:

Seriously though, we have Bomber drops, Blop drops, Capital drops, why not T3 drops? The question is not how much DPS they push out, but how that relates to their defensive capabilities, their cost and damage application factors.

  • I mean, you can already do a decent amount of DPS if dropping with a Stratios group, while having a nice buffer and some utility or more dps and a bunch of mids for any flavor of ewar.
