Keynote Chat

I don’t know, I haven’t had the time to watch the keynote myself, just trying to find a rundown on here and reddit, and it seems like there’s a general ‘defeatist’ attitude of the thing that paints over the few good things that are mentioned in the rundown by Shipwreck Jones.

Namely, heraldry i.e. alliance logos and patterns on ships? I guess it’s not on the level of having fully customized, player-made skins for ships, just curated by CCP, but at least we’re getting something for alliances to show off, which is important for the community and making the battles actually look like they’re happening between player groups.

An update to FW has been long wished, and it seems like they’re overhauling it in a way that allows everyone to take part while remaining in their current alliances. I think we might see some major Nullsec alliances establishing their own FW groups in the future.

But my question is, where the heck is dynamic mineral distribution? where are changes to sov combat anomalies? give me somthing that would change the day-to-day experience…

Amber Heard’s case is doing better than CCP’s…

…and she has already lost.

CCP is talking too much about new player for a game with that bill.

Not that I expecting anyone from CCP to actually read this… but

Your player base is repeatedly telling you things are wrong. Yet you choose to bury your heads in the sand. In response to the inflation busting price hikes… we were told to wait for fanfest where you promised “the biggest news / update so far”. Instead in the keynote we got an overly long “look at what you guys did in the last couple of years”, artwork and videos.
Now also take away the constant “Please welcome CCP (insert new name here)” which in itself wastes time and is a filler.

  1. We got FW update (by all accounts waaaay overdue but affects only a portion of the playerbase),
  2. NPE iteration,
  3. Another new currency (Can I remind you how wanted and succesful Arumn wasn’t)

Did I miss something? At which point are you planning on announcing this big update / new content. So far I (and many many people here so far) have seen nothing that comes even remotely close to justifying the price hike.

Now add in that you want to get and retain new players - how many times do you have to be told - no new player is going to drop a 12 / 24 month sub. they are going to want a few months testing first, so you have just increased the barrier to entry / put them off even doing that.

2 months to train as alphas to get 1 mil sp about half what a omega account gets, time is the cost

Man, that was just terrible. Nothing of substance, just promises of putting some polish on an already old game. Very disappointed…

Pretty sure it is, All of the keynotes are pretty much done, just FW changes to go. Just another joke.

But if you plan for your ganker to remain alpha then why would you pay for it just to train a few weeks quicker, it makes zero sense to not just let it train for a bit.

Reddit is full of null bears who need to be told what to do and think while pretending to be capable and dangerous (solo) pvpers. It’s also full of people who haven’t played in eons.

Additional character slots are good for toons that you wanted a limited amount of omega skills on, and don’t need to multibox (i.e. industry alts). So, you train them for 1 to 6 months, and, as long as you keep your main subbed, you retain access to their omega skills.

Obviously, if you want to dual box, or will need to do extensive training (i.e. capital alt), you’ll probably want to roll with a second account. But, MCT’s/MPTC’s can be a good choice depending on your needs.

Can anyone tell me what I need to type in twitch chat in order to redeem a galnet skin?

Edit: Click on the pink play button below chat. Then click on the reward. You have to link your in-game name to your twitch account first though. You can do that by typing, “!ign” + your ingame name into chat.

“Gib me skin”?

It was fantastic hearing about the FW changes!!! I am really looking forward to those.

It will be so amazing when we can spend hours and hours and hours and hours fighting and plexing and capturing systems and not have them all flipped by bots the next morning.

They didn’t mention botting, but I guess they’ll cover the solution to botting tomorrow. I know that we won’t be disappointed!!!

Hahaha! You are funny. I think you may soon learn that things aren’t quite the way you think they are.

All I can say is I’m glad I didn’t buy a ticket to Iceland for that…and I feel sorry for Scott Manley.

Who? My captions (CC) automatic translation broke on that part.

this guy. Rocket Scientist (for real) and Eve Online tragic…

Once again CCP shows us excellence in action. Increasing prices with a shrinking population. Offering no new content and gaslighting the fan base.

Fairly boring outlook at the future tbh. The only things that I did find somewhat exciting are EvE Anywhere for Alphas, which is really nice, and some visual enchancements here and there, which I will now enjoy on my SP6 without burning it. I would not be suprised if the game still won’t save UI presets after each session, though :psyccp: I mean, it was just a couple of monhs, right? No time to implement such minor details, who does not enjoy setting up the interface frrom scrath every single day.

But in general nothing, absolutely nothing so far would make me pay 20 € to sub for Omega account. I was considering a subscription upon rumours of WiS, but CCP ended up being CCP still, so whatever.

Something that I really think did miss the mark was the new engine flare up animation. I may be too pedantic or whatever, but who the heck would allow a ship to smoke up the entire interior of a space station like that? Generally, the smoke trails are a really annoying detail from my point a view. Missiles lost their sci-fi character, when the new effects were implemented back then mainly due to the smoke trails IMO and now the same happens to ships. Terrifically bad artistic vision, absolutely abhorrent.

In truth, I have never been more deflated…as far as Eve Online goes at least.
