Kill RIght - Mechanic

I know here was some kill rights - crime game changes few years ago, but looks like nothing happens and nothing is change - The situation is that in front of Jita 4-4 station there are often several Tornado ships hanging there AFK or just dont care, and they are still killing players when non afk, last time i saw them just floating in space, from downtime to downtime.

Each of them has a 149 million ISK bounty on them for several days now. I noticed that they stay there permanently, basically 24 hours a day.

Apparently no players are willing to pay or activate kill rights because for many people that is a huge amount of ISK

The cost of kill rights is chosen by players.

It cannot be too cheap or the intended target will simply pay it off on an alt.

It also cannot be too expensive or nobody will buy it.

So, it is up to the players themselves to find a good balance between the two.

Kill rights are a nice way to keep honest players honest. After all you wouldn’t want a 149M bounty on your head on your main character for an opportunity attack if you plan to fly your Marauder , Freighter or Exhumer in HS later that month.

But while kill rights somewhat hinder crime like the rest of the crime tools in EVE it will never fully get rid of all crime in this game simply because crime and piracy intentionally are part of this game. If that is something you have issues with you might want to change your expectations to not stay disappointed.

Kill rights are NOT supposed to work. Because CCP wants those Tornadoes there removing billions of ISK from the economy. A simple and functional kill right system would just flag the ganker with a long term Suspect flag based on the value of the kill and the percent of damage the ganker did to the target (eg. week/100mil ISK - or whatever you want your sweet spot to be). But that would never happen because it would destroy station ganking. Might also make things difficult for bad roaming gankers (it would not affect skilled roaming gankers at all). So you are stuck with this terrible system where killrights don’t even show up unless you are on grid with the character, and physically click on them, and then try to determine whether or not to activate the killright, and then you are either dead at this point or the ganker docks up - and this is how it will stay.

Exactly ! and why ?

CCP created a game where your choices matters …. if you are stupid and overload your nontanked hauler then you it get “removed” oO if you are smart then you can avoid ganks to a 100% chance !

who said they dont work ?

to me, it looks like they work as intented ! you get KR if you do criminal activities and the victim can choose who can activate it and how much it will cost !

I feel like the type of person who spends enough time on the Jita undock to actually care about this is probably the same type of person who drives their soccer-mom SUV through rushing floodwaters.

Killrights enable PvP. The only people they work for are PvP players. I’m sure those Tornados will activate a killright if they see it. I have activated many killrights, and they worked just fine. Killrights will never work for carebears. In fact, nothing will ever work for carebears. They will just fail endlessly, and come here to whine and cry about how difficult and unfair everything is.

It is true that you have probably activated and successfully followed through on more killrights than any other player in EvE. Furthermore, you are an elite PvPer (one of the top 25 in the game!) officially recognized and rewarded by CCP themselves. We have little choice but to bow to your wisdom on the matter.

what you will find now is… they attack thier char.. and place a say for arguments sake… 10b isk kill right on them self..
