Klingons On The Starboard Bow

Am I the only one who’s had a trail of flames and sparks coming out of their ship during warp ? I don’t mean the tethering animation…which sometimes attaches as you warp past a station…but actual flames trailing along behind. I had this yesterday in Jita…large flames coming out of the bottom of a shuttle.

Are the Devs experimenting with some new animation ? Is this a bug ? I’d quite like it to be a real thing if one warps off after combat and is damaged. Though in this case nobody had actually fired on me. I suspect its probably similar to how one can end up having a Concord warp scramble beam on one’s ship even though one has not been involved in any activity. That’s my best guess.

I think I have heard of a few cases of others experiencing the same. Must get a photo next time.

Just a guess but probably what you suspect, which actually did happen to me in the past as well: weapon, projectile, ship related and other effects being applied to your ship instead and sometimes getting stuck as well.

Well…I’d be a bit concerned if EVE was spending so much time attaching the wrong animation to the wrong ship that my 2500 scan res fails to lock on multiple ships…as occurred around the same time.

Flames? So you have hull damage?

As far as I recall when such visual / effect glitches occurred my case it never resulted in lag or other similar issues, it was purely a visual thing. It happened both in Jita and empty systems / grids as well so probably was not related to connection issues or network lag or such, but can’t be 100% sure.

Nope…no damage. Wasn’t even fired on. Just undocked from Jita for Sobaseki and next thing there’s a huge trail of sparks and flames coming out of my ship. Which disappeared in Sobaseki.

Then probably a random graphics glitch, like the glow bloom I notice every day in certain areas. A pity you couldn’t take a screenshot.

High scan res in Jita is also dependent on where you, and your target are, in relation to the server, ie Pings. Ive noticed there are some people I can never catch and others that are easy to catch based on that relation. High scan res only helps to a point where server latency comes into play as to whos commands get processed first by the server in London. Enjoy information. :smiling_face_with_horns:
