Okay, so does that mean that development for an MMO is easy? Does that mean that we should expect zero bugs, or at least fewer bugs than we de see?

I sometimes play cooperative shooters with my brother. The last one we played was Borderlands 3. The bugs I personally experienced included (what I can remember off of the top of my head):

  • An excessively long loading screen (like 2 or 3 minutes)
  • About a 33% chance of some lag in multiplayer (especially when driving in vehicles)
  • About a 33% of not being able to play multiplayer at all due to extreme lag, rubber banding, bullets not being fired from guns, frequent disconnects, and/or the inability to connect to each others game in the first place (on the plus side, the lag made it really easy to dupe items to give to my brother)
  • Game crashing when trying to use DX12
  • Sometimes can’t zoom out the map
  • Sometimes can’t place waypoints on the map
  • Not being able to find legendaries that were marked on the map
  • Phantom Quest Markers
  • Remapping the throw grenade key results in neither the remapped or default key working
  • and my all time favorite… The LOSS OF EVERYTHING IN MY BANK after a CTD.

And after ten of thousand hours over the past 5 years of playing Eve, I’ve probably personally been affected by about 2 bugs a year -and none of them rose above that of mild inconvenience. I may not know much about game development, but I think I know a bit about playing games. And quite frankly, the frequency and severity of bugs in Eve is trivial when compared to what I’ve experienced in most AAA titles over the past 10 years.

But you’re right. Let’s get out the pitchforks. I had assumed that development of an MMO required a lot of skill and work, and that it wouldn’t be unreasonable to encounter at least some bugs. But, I was just being naive. We should expect absolutely zero bugs. And this SP debacle is surely indicative of a systematic failure within the dev and QA teams at CCP.

So, let me be the first to give you a thumbs up on your efforts to hold CCP accountable for these unacceptable mistakes.

odd to note: the 150k SP item cannot be put into my cargo hold. It CAN be put into a Fleet Hanger.

Yes do read the article and try to understand it. There is no SP hardcap, just a set of available skill levels.

You are still here
You can’t understand that if the alpha is skill limited , he is automatically SP limited .
One is the same than the other …
I give you the last word as I can see you are the man who likes to be always right …

Nah still broke… The good news is, I’m now 13% of the way there to my next 150k SP apparently, or are they gonna sting us on that too?

That boat already left… hope you can trace where they should all go back to…

Meanwhile - can we have a trashcan on the login screen? so I can more easily get rid of the trash

Looks like those who unlocked this 150k misses out the first pass through.

Today just now I have an alt who just reached the daily login 150k/150k bar and after logging in I notice it was automatically applied the skill points.

The token however still doesn’t unlock 150k skill ponts.

Stil no fix for the 150K skillpoints that was already redeemed !!!

2 days since last update from devs and no fix. seems that CCP just decided to keep silence until we just forget about it.

It’s as simple as:
select pilots where (log-in-days since x >= y) and (CCP did not add 150k SP to his account) -> add 150k SP
if there’s a log of redeemed stuff, it’s even easier…
But I guess, also CCP knows weekends and already tests that fix they built today to have it implemented live by tomorrow DT.

Spoke with the team today - a fix is in the works. Will give you guys more details when I know when it’s going live.

Guess they are now trying to deal with all contracts created for these redeemed items and can’t afford to organize this chaos.

They have to make probably some contact tracing to search any covid-19 players that sold throught contract their 150K item .
Then solved it ( perhaps reverse contracts , give the SP the first owner)
Finally delete all the 150K items from the server .

Not a real data challenge , but the tracing could be tricky.
