Known Issue: Daily Login Rewards 150k SP Issue

It’s not the end of the story, Mr Big Brain.

They want to punish those who gambled to buy the SP by then not enabling them to redeem said SP? Fine. Using that principle, they should at the same time deduct the ISK gained by those who gambled by selling their 150k SP.

You don’t just punish half of the ‘offenders’, while rewarding the other half.

It’s not rocket science.

Again - The reasonable and fair thing for CCP in order to fix their screw up, would be to either reverse all contracts and then apply the SP directly to whatever character redeemed it - or - have the items be activated just like small/large skill injectors and let the ones who sold theirs keep their ISK.

You bought an item, it will remain with you, no one will take it away.
You wanted to be smarter than everyone, it didn’t work out.

Are you slow or something? Did you even read any of the stuff I wrote?

Most likely, the later fix being discussed is in fact CCP reversing all the contracts - which is why they removed the ability to further contract them (sets an end date to the impact research window). So in the end I expect everyone will have their isk back. It’s not a guarantee, though.

Period, people traded objects that were not usable, as no Consume action was present. Since CCP acknowledged the items were not intended to spawn, it would not be appropriate to add a Consume action and allow them to be redeemed to purchasing characters.

Also: hypocrisy requires my actions not aligning with my words. Seeing as I still have my 150k SP can sitting in my hangar, I’m very much speaking as I act: trading bugged items is a bad idea, since it has no guarantees from the game developers of item fulfillment.

If they indeed were to reverse the contracts as well, then that would be fine. Like I mentioned in the post earlier, either of those two solutions work.

I do however have a feeling they’re just gonna send out the SP while allowing those who benefited from selling this ‘CLEARLY bugged item’ to keep their ISK. In typical CCP fashion.

If CCP wanted to PUNISH they would have just ban people who buyed/sold the SP items - because everyone knew that it was broken. People are supposed to report bugs, not to mess with bugged things, there could be consequences for such behavoiur. But atm there are no ban reports, so CCP already showed mercy for abusers - no matter were they selling or buying.

They could be transferred in personal trading.
And most likely you could throw it into space, and pick it up with your alt.
So canceling contracts is not enough.
Those who knew that this was a mistake and decided to use the exploit would be punished.

Any further trading after contract ability removal is something that I agree would be a bug exploit - provided there was isk exchange involved as well, since that is scamming via an exploit.

Otherwise people are free to throw away their trash any way they see fit, and CCP has already announced that the objects will not be redeemable. So if you want to pile a bunch on an alt, eject them in space, and blow them up, it seems like valid activity to me.

Lol. As I already said before. It was more than plausible for both the buyers and sellers to believe that it would be a tradeable item that would be activated to apply the skill points. Just like the small/large skill injectors.

What was obvious, if anything, was that the inability of activating the item was bugged, not that it was given as an item rather than having the SP applied directly from the redeem window. Which is also evident from the numerous people complaining that they weren’t able to activate and apply the 150k SP item.

CCP hasn’t shown mercy to anyone. That’s just BS. CCP screwed up, for x’th time in a couple of weeks, and expecting their customers to own up for CCP’s own mistakes is ludicrous.

If ccp introduces a new item and it can be contracted then, unless CCP states otherwise, we can assume it’s meant to be contracted so anyone who did so handled in good faith.

It’s really just a messy mistake by CCP.

Everyone has a theory, but at the end there will be only one remedy up to CCP .
And I don’t think theirs would be harsh.

I’d like this story will take much more time to resolve,
because I have never seen such a good troll : placebo-SP .
( I am still waiting my 150K but really not in a hurry )

Yes, we can assume it is meant to be contracted - but if it has no consume option, we can also assume it is a useless object with no value beyond being a collectible, and thus any sales that claim it will grant SP would be scams at best.

And since buyers couldn’t see the lack of a consume function and only had the description to go by, they would be making purchases ostensibly in good faith - whereas the sellers would know they cannot redeem the item. So the transactions are, again, at best scams, and at worst bug exploits.

Given the vast volume, CCP appears to have elected to not ban players over exploiting the ability to sell broken objects - but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t an exploit.

The build-up is what really made it work. Every day we went “wow, this campaign is pretty annoying and useless, but the SP will be nice,” and then bam, fake SP. That’s quality trolling, that.

My SP redeemed to my hanger in a citadel, that city is going to die tomorrow so I have had to move it to asset safety - what should I do?

Ah, the cream of the ignorant rises to the top. Your managerial resume in RL must be as vacant as the space between your ears. Have you ever been responsible for the coordinated work output of a large group of people? Have you ever had to insure subordinates achieve results in order that a goal is achieved or a mission is accomplished? I’m betting “NO” to both questions.

This “dilemma” or “issue” or “monumental screw-up” is laid solely at the steps of CCP management. Any other way of looking at it is avoiding the obvious: They’re just not up to the task at hand. Since we are still without resolution, it makes my argument and assessment even more valid.

Afterwards, perhaps we can keep the item as a collectible, like a first print of a book with errors.

Bloody hell, 5 DT passed… Are there SO BADLY cripple-handed lefties (my apologies to all cripple-handed and to all lefties for such comparing) working as programmers, or SO IGNORANT chiefs of the project, that such basically shitty problem can not be solved FOR 5 BLOODY DAYS?!

200 IQ on that one.

Pll fix it i wait for so long to get the sp :frowning:

How do I activate these skill points? The anniversary event gave them to me, but can’t I use them or move them? I want to place a ticket but I can not suppose that they are saturated … does anyone know if there are problems with this matter?
