Kshal Aideron for CSM 21 - New Players | Highsec | Community

Here we go folks, another round of CSM campaigns! You guys made 20 happen, lets go for the new milestone of being elected 2x in a row!

First, let me start off with a quick introduction for those of you who don’t know me yet. I’m Kshal Aideron, the founder and CEO of Eve Rookies as well as the CEO of the public wormhole group Wormlife Freeports (who is getting ready to celebrate their 10 year anniversary!).

I discovered a long time ago, even before I started running for CSM, that I’m not happy simply logging in and hitting F1.

My happy place is making Eve a better place. So what does this look like?

  • Stepping up when I had absolutely no idea what I was doing to start FCing NPSI fleets.
  • Accepting the fact that my Twitch Chat became a help desk for brand new players before I even knew what I was doing myself.
  • Stepping up to create a community so that new players can experience incursions without having to invest tons of time and isk into ships only to learn that they hate it.
  • Figuring out what the community needs and trying to fill needs - like with incursions, newbie oriented faction warfare or other spaces.
  • Taking time to build out leadership classes for my FCs so they have the tools they need to handle tough situations that could arise during fleets or just on the server.
  • Spending 2 years serving on CSM18 and CSM20 and trying to reach out to other players and communities to find out what they need from Fenris.
  • Taking the time to coach and interview each years CSM candidates so they can start building their own successful campaigns.

Of course, it’s always nice when I can actually log into the game and just be a line member in a fleet but what makes me, well, me is going out and trying to create better people and communities.

Why Vote for Kshal?

Like I have said all of the previous years, null has its representation. Null typically gets 8 of the 10 seats so that’s always well covered.

But, like I’ve stated many times before. What happens when Fenris decides to touch or change areas that nobody on the CSM has been to since they started playing? That’s why there needs to be someone who is a subject matter expert on new players and high sec present.

At the end of the day, I get my communities to undock a lot of fleets every month (we’re still at 100+). I teach players how to create content, and they go off into New Eden to run that content and effect positive change in other communities.

I don’t just come around at CSM time and ask to get voted in, I live my campaign 365 years and do instead of just talk.

2026 & CSM20 Accomplishments

As I said, I like to walk the walk not just talk the talk. As with my entire Eve career, I’ve hit milestones both for 2026 and as part of CSM20. In no particular order:

  • Created the Highsec Collective, a place for high sec players and leaders to gather to discuss issues and problems to try to effect positive change for High Sec.
  • Because of my efforts as well as the Collective (and with a little help from other sitting CSMs) I managed to get the cost of High Sec wars increased from 100m to 500m. Keep in mind, this isn’t the solution to HS wars. Its simply a start and proof that communities like the Collective have a place.
  • Added, what I think was a very effective voice, for the Ansiblex change.
  • Helped bring attention to the awoxing problem in FW and (am still) keeping tabs on the sea gulling problem (yes, i participate in FW - not an expert by any means but go on newbie oriented fleets)
  • Asked to sit on the Eve is for Everyone panel at FF for the 3rd time and had players tell me that I inspired them the previous year to add core values/mission statements that made their recruitment a lot easier (easily the highlight of my year).
  • Inspired an Eve Rookies FC to create a community for players from his own country. It’s been very successful so far as he’s modeled it after Eve Rookies.
  • Celebrated 5 years of Eve Rookies and hundreds upon hundreds of fleets undocked with a server that’s now over 5500 players as well as 1.5 years of Wormlife’s CEO with a passionate and kick ass management team.

There are likely more milestones that happened during CSM20 and 2026, but these are by far my personal highlights.

What I’d Like a Chance to Keep Working On & My CSM20 Campaign Promise

Exordium isn’t done. There’s still work to do and I really want to be around for whatever features and/or changes are coming. I know my experience here is valuable as well as Eve Rookies as an asset and Eve University as a partner. I’ve seen what has come out of CSM18 and am excited to see what comes out of 20.

I’m currently in the process of getting even more involved with Faction Warfare, from a new players perspective. I’ve been saying this for the past 2 years but I truly believe that FW is the bridge to pvp from the NPE.

I really, really want to continue the conversation of wars in High Sec. While I’m glad to be able to get a tiny change into the last major update for HS wars, we all know it’s not a fix. I do know that Fenris is open to talking about it and is open to taking feedback from those that live in HS and are affected. And maybe, just maybe in the future HS wars will go onto their planning board.

That last sentence is important, and this is my promise to you. I promise to keep conversations relevant and moving forward. I promise to effect change when and where I can and to always keep new players, HS and communities in mind when interacting with Fenris.

Thank you and I look forward to interacting with you win or lose.

For the whole of her term on CSM20 K’shal has come along to EVE Uni every month and held a town hall where she invites opinions and suggestions from new players. Every time she’s explained what the CSM is and showed so much patience and interest in every new player’s opinions. She’s also regularly reviewed the CSM suggestions channel in our Discord and raised points to Fenris where required.

The high sec collective is just getting started, but there have already been some really fruitful discussions and feedback to Fenris from it.

I can honestly say as a new player representative she has done what she promised for her term and more. I know I will not hesitate to vote for her again for CSM21.

Kshal is an exemplary CSM member, whom I am happy to call a friend. Organizing town halls, bringing me home-made cookies at fanfest, listening to my rants about EVE - she has my full confidence.

Thank you guys for the endorsements! :purple_heart:

Kshal has been a great person to work with on CSM 20. Even though my focus is mainly on null sec I have learned alot about the more nuances in high sec and how things affect the community. I was happy to work with Kshal and the rest of the csm 20 team to get some meaningful changes done to high sec. I hope Kshal makes it on CSM 21 (and myself of course also) to work with her and get further improvents in high sec implemented and brought to the table.

New players are the lifeblood of EVE and will be the only reason the game continues to survive into its third decade and beyond

Kshal has shown that she is passionately committed to fostering the sort of groups and ideas that maximise the chances of new players from committing to the game, while at the same time not encroaching on mechanics that would ultimately dilute the risk : reward pillars that underpin the uniqueness that this game offers

I absolutely reccomend voting for her and hope I can work with her in the next year

Hello @Kshal_Aideron, what about this?

  • The connection between EVE Online and EVE Vanguard

Do you have any expectations what that could be, how it could work? I am aware there is nothing tangible yet, but it’s rather inevitable if I red FC correctly.

We’ve already seen a little of what they’re intending between the Fanfest 2026 talks and the drops that happened a few months ago.

I’m personally fine with connection as long as whatever “materializes” from Vanguard doesn’t interfere with Eve’s economy. Best case scenario is it’s just cosmetics. Worse case, future CSMs will have to remain vigilant that it doesn’t destabilize things.

Kshal should absolutely be on everyone’s ballots - new player retention is arguably the most important topic for EVE’s long-term health, and she’s an exceptionally accessible and communicative CSM for the whole community.
