Lancers are killing unsuspecting pilots

Someone used their JF. They didnt know about lancers and this just happened.

Should CCP do a better job at communicating disruptive changes like lancers? Or is it the pilot at fault.

are you stupid???
1 there is no NPC on that km that i can see
2 where is the lance dreadnaught on the km

No-one is talking about an NPC
The lancer is top damage

ok i madee a mistake looked at teh pic wrong…

Still what is the issue…its pvp in LS…

ALso you making a lot of posts in places…on topics you really should get a better feel for.

It seems like CCP is causing people to quit

And thats kind of sad

You need to educate yourself better on mechanics.

Lowsecc is the most dangerous place in eve, eveyone knows that.
its like “the wild west” its empire space, but no cops.

you do know this is a bit like going IRL to certain parts of certain towns, get mugged and then complaining about it

Lancers seems like a big rule change

Rules change. We used to be able to pull the plug on our internet in order to save our ships from getting nuked by other players or NPC’s. Then they added the log-off timers, which put a stop to that…

almost all of the Ventures killed in that system did carry a Cyno, yet few (in comparision) Jumpfreighters are killed, that means two things.

  1. there is a lot of cyno traffic in that system, and that means people will wait for large ships that can’t really move fast.
  2. the majority of those ships make it trough, otherwise there wuld be a close to equal number of capital ship kills.

the kill would have happend anyway … Lancer or not, makes little difference.

i assume you were about to jump to highsec,
how much time was between your cyno jump and the gate jump?

there are a few ways to do this quicckly (like immideatly jump the gate) or waiting for an opportunity. but this isn’t done the same way, thats why i was asking.

I wonder what CCPs policy is when it comes to major rule changes. They probably want them more often than not and dont think its important to properly communicate them. Its not a big deal i guess.

I’m not sure which update added Lancer Dreads, but it was more than likely documented in the patch notes. It’s not CCP’s fault if you don’t read them…

Its been documented and noted. CCPs history shows that they dont reveal all to players. Up to players to figure most things out

Does not seem new or returning player friendly

If you are a returning player who hasn’t fired up EVE in years, and you don’t at least read through the patch notes of the updates you missed, that’s on you. In the case of brand new EVE players, the probability of them interacting with a Lancer Dread is almost zero…

When they do it can be devastating so that should be taken into account as well

Well, we can’t change the rules of the game just because something might happen to a new player eventually…

Maintaining an MMO is big responsibility unless its a successful one with loyal players because then you can afford to be irresponsible for a while at least

It’s worked for CCP for 22 years…
