Laugh on / learn from my defeat and hear my vow of revenge

I would link kill reports but there aren’t any. I never uploaded API, since I only expected losses and didn’t want to give out my locations. More interestingly, my enemies did the same thing.

They are Nosferatu Security Foundation [NOSF], an alliance-less corp and Nabula Rasa [RASA] alliance

So the story started with me scanning down an empty C1. No structures, no PI colonies, sites untouched. POCOs belonged to some random corp with 1 member, no alliance, no activity. I set up my tower and started hitting the first POCO. Some of my pilots were killed and then a ransom letter arrived. You could read about that on reddit.

I figured I got unlucky to get in a wormhole watched by pirates, unassembled my tower and left. Scanned down another wormhole, occupied by a tiny corp in an Athanor. Returning noob me had no idea about citadels, there was no POS, so I assumed it’s just a moon mining deployable. This time I was more careful, set up a small tower and killed only one POCO. I figured, if anyone fights or even complains, I leave. No one did, so I set up a real tower and reinforced the rest of the POCOs. When I went for the timer and lost some pilots. I chatted with one of the enemy pilots involved and he said he just came for random content. He may even told the truth. I never cared to check the loss reports if there is a pattern between the other killers. Mistake.

I scanned down the third C1 and was even more careful. It was dead empty, the POCO owner corp had some activity years ago and died down to one member. I sent him a mail. I reinforced a few POCOs. No response. I killed those POCOs, moved in and reinforced the rest. Today they came out of reinforce, and I went to kill them. I was super careful. I criticaled the static yesterday and closed any K162. Today the critical static was still there and there were no incoming K162s. No one could come in. No one on dscan. I attacked 2 POCOs with 2 groups of pilots at once, figuring that if I missed something or someone just rolls into my WH, he can catch only one team. Both were bubbled at the same time and killed, save for a lucky pilot who warped out the last second. The pirates moved in days ago and set up logoff traps around the POCOs.

This is when I first checked zkillboard and when it was empty, the loss reports of my pilots in game. I found:

  • Cindy killed in WH1 by NOSF and in WH2 by NOSF

  • Caitlin was killed by RASA in an “unrelated” incident in a C2 by RASA and in WH3 by NOSF and Nabula Rasa

  • Jeremy was killed in WH2 by NOSF and randoms and in WH3 by NOSF and RASA

  • Jenna was killed in WH1 by NOSF, in WH2 by NOSF and in WH3 by NOSF and RASA

  • Botslayer was killed in WH1 by a random, in WH2 by NOSF and randoms and in WH3 by NOSF

  • Rorka was killed in WH3 by NOSF and RASA

  • Doomlord was the lucky one, he was never killed

  • Serable was killed in WH3 by NOSF and RASA

  • MrVilla was killed in WH3 by NOSF

All 3 wormholes I was attacked by the same pirates. In the second, there were randoms in the mix. One of my pilots were killed by them in a C2 when she closed a K162 and got stuck there. By the same pirates, I just didn’t care to check.

First, I bless my luck that I scanned the WHs myself, because otherwise I’d blame the WH locator service for leading me into trap WHs. These were 3 random C1s, one lived in, 2 empty, all 3 having POCOs under different, alliance-less corps and in all 3 I was attacked by the same pirates.

They don’t post their kill reports on Zkill. They never fished for tears. All they wanted is ransom. These aren’t your ordinary lolPvP-ers. These guys probably make billions from ransoming small corps. They probably do PI on their alts in some WHs, not in the 2 empties, that’s for sure, I checked for colonies. They wrote in their ransom mail that they want to make PI more profitable to members by killing others and keeping WHs empty, but I doubt that makes much sense, considering most PI is done elsewhere, mostly in highsec where the low efficiency is beaten by the sheer number of players.

The guy who sent the ransom notes called themselves IPPU.

So what I will do is exactly what I wrote to my last mail to him. I leave WH space, as it’s clear that they have extensive recon network. They would find me again. I will return to highsec and trading. When I have a proper war chest, I will raise a mercenary army and eradicate this filth. Not only for revenge. Their whole business model is based on locking out small corps from low class WHs. FC is now updating the sites to lure more people in, but they can only get daytrippers. Corps can’t move in and start learning the ropes, because these pirates kill them or force them into slavery which isn’t fun way to live in a game, so they probably quit WH space or the game. All these pirates leave behind are empty systems.

After eradicating them, players can move into the now empty WHs and start learning J-space life. I will pay mercs to protect them if this filth try to rebuild and evict them. C1 WHs will be living again and those who graduate from C1s will bring this life to higher WH classes.

Good luck with that.

Personally I think you’ll need more than a warchest, you need a bunch of other people to help you do this, solo you have no chance. Best get recruiting.

That was a long story…

Welcome back to Eve where the 5 P’s always reign supreme:
Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance…

Course I gotta say since there’s extremely limited details in your story, it presents itself as being very questionable…

However I will give you creds for attempting something like that, especially without camping out the holes first for a few days to check for activity…

Anyway, good luck on your future endeavors in New Eden and welcome back…

Are you serious? amping out the holes for days? My time is worth more than all the ships lost 10x

I think there is something missing in your “story”. Or I misunderstand some part.

If you go into a really randomly scanned WH below C5 class, lock yourself in and anchor a structure there (or reinforce an old POCO), chances that an “Outsider” who is looking for you finds you are close to zero.

So either you have a security leak (if not working totaly solo, someone in your peer group leaked infos about your location), or if you are working a 100% solo indeed, you haven’t noticed you were followed in all the time. Means they watched you in HS scanning for a WH, waited a few minutes after you left the local, then scanned the same WH down and followed you in and begun looking there and/or in the neighboring holes for any sign of you. If you know what your prey is attempting, it isn’t that hard.

But randomly finding you out of the blue in 3 different lowclass WHs? In a row? Sry, not gonna believe that.

WTF dude, yes I’m serious… I would think someone like you would know that if you don’t do intel first, you’re more than likely gonna fail…

Anyway, go ahead and continue to lose assets and waste time, all because you think your time is worth more than doing proper intel first…

At least it seems he wrote it himself. So I give him that.

So if I’m understanding correct – you tried to establish yourself in wormhole space 3 different times, in different holes you scanned out yourself. And got dropped on all 3 times by the same guys? (Was it literally the same characters, or the same corp/alliance?)

That seems unlikely to happen, unless someone is specifically targeting you. Or you’ve made yourself a target by doing something, and/or someone put out a merc contract on you.

How did they ransom you? You didn’t yet have many valuables inside the wormholes. What were they asking and in exchange of what?

Looks like the lyrics of ‘Pepper’…

These pirates claim they own ALL C1s and everyone must pay tribute to them to live there. They made ransoming noobs their income source. I was just their next mark and I met them 3 times because I was persistent enough to find 3 WHs.

They are not pirates, they are Wormholers and after this message I will call you out as what you are: A liar!

Gevlon, you can not decide when structure is undefended, you can find it out though. I happen to know a little of what happened. I was involved in WH2 defence, but missed the timers and did not get to shoot you.

In WH1 Gevlon attacked a poco and his attack fleet was in turn hit pretty quickly. I don’t know the actual time but response was quick and he did not manage to reinforce anything

That resulted in the negotiations where Gevlon acted like a world owner; arrogant and pompous. I bet that is the source of his current troubles in the wormholes. At the end he lost a couple of cheap ships and did reinforce nothing and decided to pull out of that WH.

He went to the next WH2 where a small corp had Athanor as base. He killed one poco there without resistance and decided to reinforce the system. Locals received help and Gevlon decided to pull out. I think he had promised to return the POCO that he had killed and replaced with his own back to the locals. Naturally he backed down on the promise, so that poco was removed. Locals have most likely replaced it. He kept on looking for validation from Reddit for his actions. It is possible that locals could have repelled his attack without help that Gevlon had ordered for their defence:).

Then he started to kill Pocos in a hole that he calls WH3. He shot them in groups of 3. He had reinforced his 2nd group of 3 and was killing them when he was attacked and all but one ship from his Poco bashing fleet were killed with pods. According to my primary source, the last set of 3 Pocos were never reinforced.

Gevlon found his New Wormholer friends 3 times (or they found Gevlon) by being a self-centered egoistic liar. Looking for validation and sympathy from any forum he can find. Acting on impulse and rage with attitude me-me-me, myself and I. Has anyone actually been in the same corporation with Gevlon or his alts?? If yes, how did it work out?

Looking for Reddit validation is an answer by itself.

From all times google redirected me to Reddit I believe less than 5% had any decent content.

Not to mention this is better placed in My EVE.

About his attitude, no judgement, EVE is a place for all kinds of attitudes. He got the result of his dreams minus his capacity to realized them.

If you dream big, you better work hard.

Never heard of a C1 cartel… Maybe just pick a hole that’s empty and actually bring some ships that can put of a fight and aren’t easily popped. If you want to live in JSpace, you have to have a way to defend yourself anyway. Sooner or later someone will knock at your station to see what falls out.

The solution is easy: just be a good wormhole citizen and buy a C1 wormhole permit from them.

  :ccpguard:

In my experience, a bit way back a few years, it was actually ‘safer’ to live in a C5-C6 than C1-C3. Everyone and their grandmother is looking to get a C1-C3, higher class wh no so much. I lived in a C6 alone for a while.

Well that has to be a very long time ago. HighClass Space today is almost completely shared among the big groups (and their alts/associates/renters), C6 mostly farms, protected by agreements. C5s being homes, used for finding content on the C5 highway.
The chance for a really independent small group or even a solo person to hold a C5 or C6 for a longer time is literally very very small. It happens, but its the exception.
Someone will just come and knock it over and then you better can raise ~100 potent combat ships for defense. Everything below that, some bored HK multiboxers will eat for breakfast just to see what falls out of the Fortizar.
