Linux launcher / CORS error

Hi,

When will the Linux launcher be updated to handle the new login process? The current launcher is failing with CORS errors (iframe permissions errors). It’s only started happening about 14~15 hours ago, coincides with the latest mainline launcher update.

p.s. is there a windows executable launcher we can manually run from within Wine?

Same issue here.
After an “UI update available” it no longer works. you get very briefly the error message:
Could not connect to login server

Your launcher experienced an issue while trying to conect to the EVE Online login service. Please check your internet connectivity.

Looks like to be related to:

mac users having the same problem. Their solution was to use an elder version.

The Windows launcher is working fine. Not sure how you get it after you’ve installed the Linux launcher. It’ll probably over-write it or rename the original.

The Windows launcher is normally started as follows:

env DXVK_LOG_LEVEL=none WINEDEBUG=-all WINEPREFIX="/home/user/.eve" wine C:\\Program\ Files\ \(x86\)\\EVE\\Launcher\\evelauncher.exe

You’ll have to adjust the directories of course.

Know that Steam Play / Proton is now also an option and possibly the best one. May be a bit too soon yet, since it needs very recent graphics drivers with Vulkan support, but it looks to be the future for gaming on Linux and EVE is already working well with it (and a bit of tweaking).

I think they have fixed and for us too, Linux-users)
[Unable to login]
At least I have successfully logged in with “release” version of linux-launcher

Not only for us, especially more for mac-users

Stop using the unmaintained linux launcher. Problem solved.
