Linux & Wayland Multibox Concept

Hello,

I came up with my own solution to multiboxing on Linux. I know the topic is sensitive, but linux is without a decent implementation, and I wanted to improve the experience of using a few accounts for me.

Wayland is restrictive with streaming applications, and in lieu of a low level piece of software, I decided to utilize the browser to easily grant permissions to stream multiple Eve clients quite easily. The main caveat is you need to grant permission for each character, each instance you run the web app. That’s slightly tedious, but not that bad. It’s also not an overlay, but using this on a second monitor has been quite enjoyable, and I can still focus a client if the user enters in the name of the character on a stream.

In short, it works pretty good, and I would love to know if people would like to play with something like this. I will open source it when its more ready.

I don’t even get what your goal is? If i want to multibox on linux, i just start up the 4 clients and i get 4 windows that i move next to each other…no additional software needed?

I’m happy for you if that’s how you want to multibox. Not everyone wants to tile 4 or more clients together.
