IP/network location, hardware ID, connecting the “inherited account” from the same computer/location as other existing accounts belonging to a different player, etc.
That last one is the big one, and how they catch people sharing accounts. At least with location you can say that you moved. But if you suddenly start logging into my account from your computer, well, there’s no good explanation for that aside maybe from “I’m your friend/family and visiting you in person.”
That’s why doing a legit character transfer is the way to go.
While technically all you mention is correct, those probably are not the main factors, since one-off changes will happen from time to time. I’ve moved to different continent, and even a few times within a country, and my IPs have been dynamic all along and still are, my PC hardware has changed several times - and i’ve never had any issue.
I guess flags dont get raised as long as those changes are very sporadic rather than frequent.
As for new logins from a new location where someone else has been playing eve, it may happen as well.
The main giveaway would be changing of contact & payment details - changing email box and credit card info, for example.
Character transfer may be the best way to go but if OP is considering the time when he will pass away, it will obviously be an impossible task. Either OP may have to think about it or arrange for someone to do it on his behalf.
I would still try it. Just because the request would be odd, it does not mean it will land them in trouble. Im sure they must have got out of the ordinary account transfers in the couple of decades this game has been online,
Credit card being changed is no problem, I’ve used various cards at different times for Eve payments. Also have changed locations / IP address too without any issues.
Moving to a new location, using a new credit card and having a different Internet Service Provider is no problem. I think the only issue would be the Email address for the Eve security code when logging into the game / web site.
Course that issue can be fixed = just have the Will include the email address / login info added with the Eve character info…
Basically I don’t see how CCP could know if it was done anyway.
