Local Comms Blackout - Discussion Thread - Part Deux!

please send me this skill point plan so I can buy it.

Its not about what want.

AT&T was broken up after it became a monopoly.

If Delve took over all of Null, either CCP say ‘oh, yeah, maybe its a problem’ or they go ‘working as intended’ and we all pledge allegiance to our new Null Overlords?

Oh yeah, I forgot with an organisation of such size the number of insomniacs must be high enough that TZ tanking isn’t really a problem.

I forgot CCP pretty much removed the reason for installing mining iHub upgrades at all with the introduction of Refining Platforms. I miss the old ore anomalies, that giant spodumain rock would keep people entertained for hours.

Thank you for bringing up “my” main concern about resubbing. Why resub if Goons already won?

Yeah poor management on many a MMO led to there deaths, Free play is a warning sign of it in allot of cases.

I am told there was a time in Eve where Null was like this, but guess which part of the community complained?

I don’t play in Null anymore, though since the blackout I’ve spent way too much time on this forum.

I never did null much, I joined Goons, but it just was not for me. We spent so much time fighting them that it just felt wrong to be part of them.

Unfortunately, the question still remains. Why should I spend the time to relearn the game if its already lost?

Except, of course, that you were saying there’s no risk to the hunters. Nobody said there’s no risk to the hunted.

And again, why would we want that?

Well until you’ve got a way to force us to take over the rest of nullsec, then yeah, whether or not Delve takes over nullsec is about what we want, now ain’t it?

Realtalk: We like EVE. We enjoy playing EVE. If someone wins, the game is over. Why the hell would we ever want that?

We don’t want horrible stagnation. You know what we want? We want explosions. We want blood. We want to blow crap up and get blown up doing it. But we’ll be damned if we’ll do it stupidly, sacrificing so much for the short term that our enemies can stomp on our bones until there’s nothing left. So we’re going to do our best to make sure we can fend off the threats that come, and we don’t care if anyone else doesn’t like it.

But what we want isn’t to ‘win EVE’ or control all of nullsec. That crap’s boring. We just wanna blow stuff up.

That still does not answer my question. Why would I want pay to play if you have that much power over the game? I think you guys broke the game a long time ago. (but that’s just me) :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I love it!

I have resubbed after 3 year break, just because if the new blackout.
It makes null sec great again.

The short term is great for me, but I have done nothing with it other than to send out a couple of scouts.

Edit; Why bother if the game is that skewed?

I never said you should. If the game isn’t something you enjoy, do something else. Life’s too short to waste it on things you don’t find fulfilling.

This is a problem of perception, CCP has a certain degree of tunnel vision when it comes to assessing the health of the game. Issues that tend to blow up in their faces that affect few people are treated much differently to the little things that affect thousands.

For some, the game is already over.

Of course, but what is the point of playing if no opposing group can grow large enough to threaten before all their space condo’s get burnt down to the ground?

I forget which CCP event it was, but it went like “So, some groups figured out the rules and have won Eve. We’re changing those rules.”

All I wanted to do when I started playing on my first account was run ORE missions. Apparently the only place in the game to do that is in Null, and all the people there sit on the undock with Tornado’s, or just camp the few entrance/exit systems with interdictors. Now I just do incursions. Not what I want to do, but a compromise.

Some people who play Eve seem unwilling to compromise, which is sad because it just means fewer people find the game of interest or fun.

And ? You don’t want to lose a big blink blink ship, fly a venture.

Roam fregate is mean for rapidity and catching farming dude.

When’s the last time we went picking on the little guys for shiggles? Hmm? Burning them down just to burn someone down? We like new groups. We think null needs more new groups. New groups should be able to grow. If some group of cute newbies wants to grow big enough to come kick over our sandcastle, that’s good. We wish them well in the attempt. The people we’ve spent the last 3 years attacking earned it, and let’s not forget: They earned it by burning us out of our homes.

Absolutely nothing stopped them from reading the tea leaves CCP stapled to their 100m tall flaming sign that screamed ‘MASSIVE MINING POSSIBLE WITH RORQUALS NOW. INDUSTRY WILL BE THE KEY TO LONG-TERM VICTORY FOR A WHILE’ just as well as we did. God knows Sort was on the CSM all through those years, he sure as hell could’ve been pushing his alliance that way. They just didn’t want to.

There’s nothing preventing another small group from trying the same thing. Yes, they’ve got a lot of ground to make up now, but even that’s not impossible with the right diplomacy. And if they want to grow, diplomacy’s a talent they’ll need. So they should be able to find allies, and find ways to make up some of that ground.

And hopefully, they will.

Yeah, you’d think they’d have at least some presence in high/low, just to get people hooked in.

The game is all about compromise. It’s about adaptation, and adapting is compromising ‘I want’ to meet the realities of the environment.

Yeah. You just proved you are risk averse bullshitter who has no idea what he is talking about – freighters can not fit wstabs.

Smaller trig fleets I solo in typhoon.Get 3 typhoons and mayb two-three logis and you can do almost any roaming trig fleet. But it is easier to cry on forums than to actually attempt to up the game.

If anyone’s interested. They were doing pretty well while the Huginn was on field, but sadly the (XL fit) dreads (not carriers) couldn’t close the gap between 40 dudes in Kikis and logi vs 8 Muninns and a few Scimitars.

Too bad that Huginn didn’t survive longer it might have turned the battle all on its own. Shame about that top damage eh

Hey Mental and Unstable I meant haulers sorry dipstick for using the wrong term if you look above I mentioned the Tayra oh wait seems your not forgiving, Freighters get escorts and bulk reinforcement , and hey Noob I have ben playing this game a hell of allot longer then you to.
