@Onictus not sure why this came up as reply to you, actually was reply to @Syri_Taneka @ 3558 (Local Comms Blackout - Discussion Thread)
Maybe they could automate the d-scan. It should be done so it’s useful but not as good as someone who actually presses the button though. Since the max speed of d-scan is 3s, maybe… 15 seconds if on auto. I could live with that, and it’s not like a bot can’t press V either…
The biggest thing that stops F2P being used as scouts is CCP. I had a toon that was “in training” so I left it as an alpha on my laptop, figured what the hell, I’ll use it as an extra set of eyes (really fast >6km/s punisher orbiting at 300km). I got a quite unpleasant in-game message pretty quickly. See, its against ToS to have more than one account running if you have an Alpha. Granted I could have cheesed it and said its a buddy or kid or something, but the way it was being used (and the fact that they can see my accounts, see my inputs, determine that another person is most certainly not controlling it)… I subbed that account pretty damn quick.
The tool that CVA has actually did (likely still does) have an OOG tool to automate that process mostly. It watched your clipboard and automatically KOS-checked. It also read chatlogs just like NEAR2 and would make a noise as people got closer. I can’t recall if it had a built-in map too.
For the last bit, yeah, you will kinda have to assume that there is a possibility of cloakies in system. In jspace we assume that already, even in our home. (We call ones like that ‘seeds’) It really hasn’t affected anything other than I try not to do absolutely stupid crap, like watching a movie while the game only shows a sliver of the window or something. I actually do watch shows, but I pay more attention to the game, or if I really want to get into the show, I dock up or get safe and cloak up.
The only ships that could be getting in that easily will be ones that can fit a covert cloak. Which means they’re made of paper mache and bubblegum. Kill em all with frigates when they attack.
TBH there is more risk from SPAIs than from cloakies for most people. You all really need to think more like a hunter and less like a sheep that parrots what they heard from someone that likely doesn’t have their best interest in mind.
Since I’ve actually been a hunter (admittedly not the best one but, yeah), I can tell you that if you’re a small dude, I likely could give less than two craps about you personally. I want the biggest kills I can get for myself and my fleet. If you’re flying smart, in procurers and skiffs, or just properly aligned retrievers for that matter, your mining barge is probably not even worth the fuel it took to light my candle. And ore has a very crappy isk/m3 value.
However, if you’re flying in a blinged out nightmare, there starts to be a good chance that your kill is going to look nice on the killboard, and you might have some shinies worth looting to carry home. If you’re a moron and sitting still, or orbiting the site, not aligned to ■■■■, I’m going to pounce on you like a bologna sandwich in fat camp.
If you’re properly aligned, I have to hope that your reaction time is slow enough that you can’t punch warp before I can decloak, wait for recalibration timer, lock you, point you, and light a candle. Which btw, will almost certainly result in the death of my candle lighter, and really does end up being a 50/50 chance that you’re actually awake. I also have to assume that you might have a cloaked up ship yourself to defend you, because I also have no local…
How strange you are. The biggest problem is the passage of the ship with Cyno. Which can always hang in the system, waiting for the right moment. And overturn any quantity and quality of ships. Snaf cyno throw dozens of dreads, supercars and titans. And how interesting is it for me to know? With locale, I see that I am controlled and, accordingly, either go to another system, or go out when a strong enough umbrella is assembled.
no you didn’t, liar. Your mum ain’t gonna pay to resub 5 account you don’t have, just trying to make it look good. You dont live in null, you just roam there. think nobody undocks now? haha wait and see…
As I wrote above, only those who come from VH, Empire and Low are positively related to the patch. Here is a typical representative, he did not live, he knows nothing, got in the teeth in zeros and in the top for killing a ship of 800 kk. This is the ceiling and in order to achieve something more, waiting for the patch and the rest does not matter to him.
Anyone who knows how to organize, they get fan and keels. And not such a misunderstanding.
Got to laugh at the nullbears who say they’re going to sit under tighter super umbrellas than ever before. If mega alliances of many thousands all huddle in a small area, no guesses for what things they may change next.
Obviously the game is broken if that becomes the new meta, which it kind of already is. Large decreases in available farming facets per system would soon put a stop to it.
Reduce the advantage of the early warning channel with early warning software.
2.0.0 Production becomes more dangerous and more realistic. The previous 0.0 is safer than Gaoan and Low.
3. Squeeze the script so that the script can’t be circumvented in advance, and the brush becomes harder to brush.
The pvp player’s gospel, catching people has become better than before, and the hiddenness to themselves has been greatly improved. After all, the unknown enemy is always terrible, making the team less difficult to harvest 0.0 points, and playing more interesting.
6.0.0 A high-yield and high-risk area, because of the cooperation of the super-flag umbrella with the early warning software and the early warning channel, the local display of everyone, making you easier to produce, making 00 a high-yield and low-risk area, this is not good.
Maybe before you start spouting more nonsense you should scroll up and read more. And be playing the game for more than a month in the past year or two.
Several people including myself have already chimed in and fairly easily debunked the whole ‘local reval will be too good for cynos’, and the whole ‘my mining ship is worth 50m, and is a juicy target for cloakers’ group. And if you’re in anything with actual worth, you should have the friends to back it up.
Ooh, you stalked someone with local. Good for you. That took loads of effort. Try it without local.
Aaaand you’ve how invalidated your whole argument. You live in highsec because you can’t handle null with local. So… yeah sorry, your soapbox is made of cardboard and just collapsed.
Killboards refute your statement about WH players. We tend to not fly T3Cs nearly as much as you think because they were nerfed pretty hard, plus they incur an SP loss that can cost over 1bn ISK so you tend to fit the ship to compensate, so another 1-3bn ISK. And for null roams we tend to use small ■■■■, frigates and cruisers, normally nulliceptors because some nullblocs like to bubblefuck every gate they have, and have titans ready to boson your 4-man inty fleet back to highsec.
Please walk at least a mile in the shoes you purport to know a single thing about, or just keep your mouth shut – you just made yourself sound like a complete idiot.
So you’re a PvP guy who attacks PvE players in Null Sec and you’re complaining that this Null Sec Local Blackout will take away much of the skills you need to continue?
What skill is that, the ability to quickly see if anyone is in the system without having to actually apply skills such as scanning?
What can a person with a killbord dotted with nuboshir killing say anything? See the Killboard of these organized VH teams, which are cool and kill with the locale and are not afraid to lose the ships.
You do not know how to negotiate with other corporations, to live in a large team, and eat leftovers. Do teams with well-established protection rejoice changes that will allow you to kill anything, above your ceiling, killing the ship for 800kk.
