Well… I’m newbie and till this moment i was grinding isk playing PvE missions. I fitted my bellicose with arbalest HLM’s, some energy rigs and shield tank+10mn enduring afterburner. My main tactics for missions was keeping distance and deal damage(not so fast as HAM’s but it’s more safe). I got bored and tried t1 abyss using this fit. They didn’t tell on wiki that hostiles has 2 km/s speed(
T1 abssyals are usually really easy to do
which sort of abyssal filament was it? exotic? dark? electrical?..
what is your fit? how are your skills?
Firestorm calm. Almost every skill is 5 and 4 except those which need omega. Can’t tell you mine fit cuz lost it in abyss(time was up). I understand my mistake i met Tessera drones 2 times in a row and having low dps inaccurate missile launcher on these…

The Bellicose is an interesting choice as mission ship, nothing fundamentally wrong with it, but a bit middling - it’s designed as a e-war support ship, but that doesn’t make it bad. The Arbitrator is similar OK mission ship, but intended as a support ship.
Don’t sweat cap stability - it’s not needed, you do need to manage the incoming damage and pulse the booster when you need a top up, but not before. The natural recharge on a shield peaks at about 30%, so holding the shield there is the sweet spot. Learning to balance the demands of the ship against it’s limited resources is an important bit of life in New Eden.
If you drop the battery, you may not need the Ancillary Current rig - put a Memory Cell in it’s place if you are worrying about capacitor. Then try a Stasis Web in the mid-slot you’ve freed up. That slows the target down when they get close and you can then actually get application from the missiles: I suspect you suffered from “I got a hit and it was really low damage”.
If you’ve got skills invested in Shields and Missiles, have a look at crossing over to Caldari hulls - they have some good missile ships that may be better than being stuck with a Bellicose. The Caracal would be worth a look at.
I don’t even have any skills related to other ships axcept minmatar’s. I thought about using close range artillery+ham shield tank stabber. I still have 36kk isk and good dps Talwar. Could you please advise me minmatarian cruiser to fight t1 abyss?
I would recommend saving some more ISK and maybe training up to some more t2 modules. I think a Stabber could do t1 Abyss fairly easily if you fit it right.
There’s a lot of resources on Youtube for Abyssals, I recommend watching some of AceFace’s stuff for how to approach the lower tiers.

This is my Talwar fit. A bit tanky but can’t take a lot of damage during long time. Is it able to carry t0?
Hum, even at my skill levels (Omega, relevant stuff at level 5) it’s hard to make Bellicose work. The DPS with Heavy Missiles is “anaemic at best”. It’s four unbonused launchers compared to the more common “five with the bonuses to make it the equivalent of six”.
A few tweaks to yours:

All feels a bit weak really, I use PYFA to look at the DPS against an Interceptor and I get about 40DPS with standard missiles (maybe 45 with faction) at best.
First: Don’t use HMs. Really. Most stuff in there you can brawl and against the few ships you need to keep range (Grip Tesseras) your range with Faction HAMs is still good enough. And those spawn rarely and solo in T1.
HMs do mediocre DPS against the majority of the targets in there and really really bad DPS agains those you cannot kite anyway.
Second: Select your Filaments and don’t just run anything you just have in your cargo. For a missileboat, use Darks. You benefit from the Effect, because you are a lot faster and many NPCs that are turret based will have trouble to even hit you.
Third: Use Explosive Missiles, the most dangerous NPCs in there are Triglavian Cruisers (Vedmaks) and Destroyers (Kikimoras) for their insane DPS ramp-up. And they are weakest against explosive damage. For a Sansha Spawn, keep some EM missiles with you.
Fourth: Use drones, not for damage but they will regulary draw the NPC aggro off you. So you use the most tanky ones (Caldari Navy Vespa), just to let them tank for you. Against the really big targets with a lot of eHP (Karybdis, Overminds, Deepwatchers) they still hit them in Darks, even if not perfectly.

What you do is you go 5000m orbit on your primary, dualweb it and punch it down. You can use Web/TP combination to use the TP-bonus, but really, webs are much stronger for increasing your application and most things will be in web-range. And against those you need to fight at range (Drone BCs xGrip Tessra), you don’t need a TP because they are already BC-size.
Scoop your drones in once they fall below 50% shield and immediately drop them out again. Against NPCs you need to keep range (Drone Battlecruisers “xGrip Tessera”) you do keep@range 15km and use your webs to keep them away if one of them comes too close.
I’ve done T1 Abyssals in a Rupture fitted with autocannons. Mine has T2 stuff on it but even without it’s a very capable ship for this sort of diversion. As you noted the rats move pretty fast so brawling is not wrong, it even makes it easier.

Downgrade to T1 gear if necessary, the ship should still be capable enough. Load ammo and drones as you see fit. There’s also a free High slot which you could use for, say, a drone link? Or a small missile launcher?
