Lv4 : the thief - lost another ship

The Lv4 Mission has mixed Dramiels, Machariels, Orthrus, and Pithii Guristas Cruise, with strong ECM.

It’s usually done with a high tank BS, or a well tanked T3.
I lost a loki once, it had a very good tank, but the 2nd spawn is
terrible to face, 20 ships spawn at 10-20km distance, and start barring you.

You really need mobility and or a really big tank to survive that.
Many times, I had to abandon the mission and dock, because the MDG tken was too high.

This time I used a 1000PDS Legion, with 1600mm plate, reactive armor, and 83hp/s rep.
omni 65%. BUt not enough. Bc the room had too many spawns.
Eben If I could clear Orthus and Dramiels with three shots, keeping high velocity,
I was still battered and my armor went from full to half in the span of 30 secs.
At half armor I decided to dock to the first gate on my screen.

My align time with mwd on was 7.7s and in that time, they managed to pass though
5k armor hp, with reactive and reps on, and when I was already in warp, a volley
destroyed my ship. My pod landed on the gate alone.

This is the ship I was flying

I later went in my Marauder and finished the job.
I didn’t rec the ship lost.
It was probably undertanked for the mission.
two ballistic modules unnecessary.

Fact remain that the same mission, killed my loki, in a similar situation.
I was already in warp when the volley landed and killed my ship.
I also had MWD active, that should have taken me FAR away from the center
of the brawl, but it didn’t. The ship entered warp at the usual super-slow speed,
and it took more than 7 secs to warp off.

I should have been safe.
I was not.
I killed the initial frigs separatedly, then jumped to the other side to finish the Overlords off.
A change in the mission added the Orthrus in the Mix.
Which are alot tuffer to tank.
I killed all of them, before warping out.
DPS should have gone down, instead it kept the pressure on.

What bothers me is the Warp out manouvre.
They should not have been able to snipe me mid-warp as they did.
And this is the second time happening in the same mission.

Maybe the devs could add a layer of “invincibility” to ships that are mid-warp?
or it there is a AB or MWD on, let the ship fly into warp at the speed of the MWD and
AB??? Not killing the engine and let it enter warp at 2mt/s as it seemed to be the case here?

Just asking… has anyone seen their speed, in alignment time, reduced to almost zero, whilst still boasting an AB or MWD??? It makes zero sense to me… almost like a bug of some sort…
on the contrary the ship should have reached full alignment making a wider trajectory, and keeping the transversal UP…

Maybe time for a fundamental change in how the warp off mechanics works with AB and MWD drives on??

Losing 2 ships to arguably 3rd easiest L4 mission is quite an achievment

Easiest… maybe before they changed the mix and application of the Orthrus, it wasn’t designed with them originally… you have to kill 10 of them, and 10 more Dramiels, all the time with BS sniping on you… Eve-survival suggesy a microjumpdrive, to warp away, and snipe them from afar… it wasn’t possible, I chose to dps tank, and I killed all Orthuses and only a couple Dramiels were left… but something was eating my tank like butter… So i decided to warp off… here should have been the easy part… warp off… maybe dock, change the tank a little, and come back to finish them off… only my ship would have warped off in max 7.7s, instead it took more than 30 sec to warp off, and it was killed mid-warp…

I don’t know what went wrong, why it took so long to warp off, and how I was sniped out mid-warp, with my ship already saying - in warp—…

Eliminate the Mercenary Overlord battleship to trigger the spawn. Watch out for any incoming Mercenary Wingman Frigates that web/ scramble.
Eliminate Shadow. Loot the Reports dropped and warp out (any Reports sold by NPC Corps on the market may be used).

The frigs do not web nor scramble anymore, they just do a TON of more DMG, same thing with the Orthruses and HAM missiles. They hit hard!
Darmiels are also tuffer to kill thatn Orthruses with HAMS.
3x HAMS for cruisers
5-6x HAMS for frigs.
10X HAMS for BS with max application on them.
I also had Navy Vespas helping me out with the frigs.

Those Machs within 10km had no business having the tracking they had.
The survival stats are all obsolete, but the core of the mission is still there,
you’re right. It’s just the DMG output combined is 4X what it used to be when the
last spawn appears. I always fast-orbit my opponents, 1400m/s min, yet they could track me
like I was lit by 10 TP… but I said, that was not the problem.
Thew problem was the warp out mechanic. On paper it was 7.7s
On grid it was more than 30s… and this I can’t explain.

Both times screwed mid-warp…
And both ships were t3 with very low alignment times…
it feel strange that it’s the same mission tho.
I had no other similar problems in other missions.
I warped off mid-structure multiple times, when I see 50% armor left and losing it…
I immediately press warp to the nearest object available…
Even BS had faster warp off time than these T3 in this mission..
I would like to pull the log for the intaken dmg.
If there is dmg taken after the warp sequence has initiated…
but it was just before log-off time, and I think I had to have it open before to take
a screenshot..

Jeez… when using a T3 cruiser fit it for repair amount, not for buffer. Use an afterburner to basically avoid taking damge from all heavy damage dealers like battleships, let it run all the time. Eliminate webbers or high-tracking enemies first.

When trying to warp out, instantly shut down your propmod, as it will increase your mass quit a lot, prolonging the alignment process, especially if the warpout point is in the opposite direction. Pro-Tip: Whenever you get in trouble, already align to some possible celestial for warpout, like the star or a stargate. Then you can simply flee with a single click the tank doesn’t hold.

“The devs” need do do absolutely nothing, that mission is a simple piece of cake. A T1 cruiser can do it.

“immediately” when you’re trying to survive a Barrage of 10K DPS is a miracle word…
ANY T1 cruiser can be fit to very high tank… that’s not the point…
7.7s align time with props on is still low, and in circumstances I prefer leve it on, so I can free myself from any obstacle between me and the escape point.

That’s exactly what I did.
The ship did not however warp off at the 7.7s mark.
I over DPS fitted it, just two t2 armor hardener and I would have cleared the site in half
the time of ANY T1 ship. That was the fit for AVALON. All DPS, minimum tank.
It could have worked, and it should, imho, if only the warp off didn’t break down.

going to buy some dairies for a cake.
Cheers.

At no point this mission deals 10k DPS. I am not sure you really know what you are talking about. That mission does a few hundred DPS at most and that is easy-peasy survivable by a T3 cruiser fitted for high active tanking.

Yeah because that number just shows the align time from a standstill. If you are moving and trying to warp out, the ship first has to negate any remaining velocity/vector you curently have and then re-accelerate towards the warpout point. Which means, by clever maneuvering you can actually shorten this time quite a lot, be bad maneuvering you prolong it quite a lot.

I really don’t get why you try bad fits over and over, fail and then complain that the devs need do do something or xyz should be changed. Just learn the game mechanics and learn how to fit ships properly for the scenario you want to use them in. It’s really that simple.

Use your Marauder. I’d need to see your fit but I suspect that you didn’t have anywhere near enough tank for this particular mission.

You are clearly not cut out for this game.

Ive done this mission a couple thousand times in a tengu with no issues at all. Youre are surely doing something very very wrong.

Whats really funny to me is that you keep publicly telling us how bad you are time after time.

If my armor is 10K, before the 60% resists, to me whatever is cracking it open, in
like less than 30s open, must be dealing something far superior to at least 1K DPS…

Here we have Overlords that can do 1K DPS, and numerous Orthrus that can do 5-800DPS each, plus 10+ Dramiels that can do 300+PDS each… you see it for yourself…
that room combined can do 10K DPS… I’m not exaggerating…
But it can be intepreted… application, etc etc…

From my point of view, my tank was qualified to deal with that room, albeit
a T2 extra hardener and or a Damage control would have largely improved it,
going from 30K EHP to 50-60K EHP, but losing back to 800DPS…

I’m not complaining that anything needs to be changed.
I’m just quietly sharing my experience in a v4 Pve room,
which has been adjusted with time. What the devs do it’s not my concern.

My concern it’s with the 7-7 align time.
I click Warp off, and the ship do the rest.
Doesn’t matter, for as long there are no objects between me and the point in space I want to warp. the ship has to warp at 7-7.
Then, during the whole time, I can’t shoot other ships, which is strange…
And sometime, I don’t make it out.
It’s only logical to share with other when things goes wrong.
Because I might have missed some analyses.

PS: I’m always afraid to do the first mission of the day, guns are cold, my brain has yet to register what moves to do… normally, I would have never took out that ship with so low armour… I did… to some it’s unluck, or bad manouver… to me it’s me just being too stupid to always think I can make it out to the last second alive… then it turn out a particular mission is really good at making normal mechanics that works in other missions, not work… so I start guessing if there might be something else at play…

10K DPS… 30 ships…
My ship alone was 1K DPS…
I don’t see nothing strange here sharing this particuliars.
It’s what has happened.

As in all of your threads: skill issue.

Why is every one of your thread a summary of mistakes you made which you then blame on the game?

Please ask what you did wrong next time instead of complaining that the game is wrong, or asking for game changes.

I didn’t make no mistakes, other than those I did.
I mean no other mistakes. Can I blame the game once in a while???
If button don’t work, or a warp off goes horribly wrong,
even if in my mind it should have been not fine, more than fine,
more than 50% armor left, 5K armor, and 7.7s to wait…
how can it go so wrong???
Pardon me if I always find how brutal this game can be… after adjustments…

This is not how aligning works.

Your ship has a 7.7 align time.

This means your ship would enter warp into rounded up 8 seconds from standstill.
If you were already moving in the direction you wish to warp to at high enough speed, you would enter warp in less time, or even immediately.
If you were moving in the opposite direction, your ship would need to slow down, turn around, then after that time spend even more time to get up to speed again, so potentially a lot more than 8 seconds.

Now you could reduce the mass of your ship by turning off that propmod to align in less time. Or pre-align if you see things going wrong, so you can immediately warp away before dying.

Please learn the game.

NO what???
Enemies are orbiting, no-one is bumping me out of warp.
this is not a Pvp scenario.
There is absolutely nothing in between me and the landing point.
My stats says 7,7s.
What you mean no???
Has Npc Ai suddenly changed that it now bumps you out of alignment???
I don’t uderstand.

In addition to that, while I haven’t done this particular mission I can already tell that a better Legion fit would have taken far less damage.

For one, a microwarp drive doesn’t reduce damage, but an afterburner would. Consider an afterburner if you need to take less damage and do not need the full speed of the MWD.

Worse, do not mix armor plates and repairs. Unless the incoming damage is very spiky that you need enough armor buffer to even survive being able to repair it, it’s much better to add armor resistances to increase your active armor repair, and also get more buffer that way.

Please stop being stubborn and learn the game.

7.7 align time is not how much time it will take you to get into warp at any time. It depends on where your ship is headed.

7.7 only means it would take you 8 seconds from standstill.

I aligned with the gate right in front of me,
the ship turned a bit, you are right, but it was no U-turn.
I know I have to look for the nearest, clearer landing point from my ship view.
That is what I did…
I also re-iterated that I didn’t switch off the prop mod bc I didn’t want anything in between me and the landing spot, so MWD helped me speed out of the brawling zone…

I entered warp, then the 7.7 cooldown started, and right when I warped off, a volley landed, dealing idk, 14K DMG? There was nothing I could do at that point.
Nothing. Only prey my structure could survive the final hits.

My Pod landed on the gate, the wreck of my ship remained where it was hit.
I didn’t press warp twice.

Everything is more expansive now. most prices have doubled for most stuff.
a Basic Cruiser now cost even 80M… then EHP goes down. maybe we gain some agility,
but the vast majority of ships have seen their EHP going down, or increasingly prohibitively expensive to fit.
Whilst most NPC, Pirate ships, has been left untouched, normal 4factions ships has all been nerfed. All missions has seen some minor changes, bc of these buffs-nerfs, and usually, the missions got way more tuffer. This is a fact.
As is a fact that for years, we had to update our guides for Anom or Abyssal every single year.
Yet it is hard to keep track of all consequences of these minor changes on thousands of missions, if not for the volunteers, that unlike the devs, are not paid by anyone to do what they do.
Fly, take notes, share with the community, roll out.

PS: Boosters. Is there anywhere a page saying Npc’s do not use any kind of boosters?
Or it’s a Wild guess? Just imagine, if every Npc in a room, could have access to lev V or 6 Boosters, to raise up all their stats, without limit. How do we know they are not using like 6 different boosters at the same time. on top of their usual stats initially programmed for that room? We don’t! We have no way of knowing! We can guess it… If we find a log of a wrecking shot of 4000DPS from a ship that on paper, was doing max 1000DPS… but we have no certainties…

MWD also helped them hit you better, because it massively increases your signature size.

14k damage doesn’t sound particularly high for a T3C, but I haven’t looked at the fit yet.
