Lv4 : the thief - lost another ship

Yo, I go with 1740 DPS before overheat on a Tengu with that setup. Moderately rolled Abyssal BCUs, no godrolls… Costs 7B with the clone tho and can be 1-shotted by a Tornado  ^^

Not sure I would want to use it, but it would definitely work. Capstable, ~400 DPS tank with a cruiser signature and 5k buffer on shield to survive some bigger hits.

“Gank My Tengu”.

Isn’t the advice generally given to mission runners “fit first the minimal active tank needed to survive, then the maximum DPS you can get on there with decent application, then finally fill out the rest of your CPU and PG with buffer”?

My advice: Fit the maximum possible buffer tank using 3x damage modules (max). This includes shield extenders/armor plates, damage control, complete high-grade Amulet/Nirvana implants and T2 core defense/trimark rigs. Exclude drugs from your calculations. Still expect gank attempts…

Aim for a minimum of 200k EHP vs. Void or your weakest resist in 0.8-0.9 systems. Add at least 100k EHP for each 0.1 security below 0.8, ie: 0.7 = 300k EHP, 0.6 = 400k EHP, 0.5 = 500k EHP (or higher).

Hmmm no thanks…i dont see the benefit of it overall. What i have works just fine.

Yea, i think my little 1.7b tengu does just fine.

Okay, i see it can be done…but is it worth doing just for finishing L4 missions a little faster? Nope, i dont see it.

Yeah, for that price invest in a Marshal…

In general: yes.

But: That rule is ancient wisdom and originates from the times where L4 was Battleship terrain and no polarized weapons did exist. It was ancient already when I joined in 2009.

Of course, it still does work for a T3C with polarized weapons, however you have to realize that a single mistake can pretty much kill you, while in a scenario that rule was made for, you still had some wiggle room.
So, I personally wouldn’t want to use it, not because it would fail, but simply because living with such an amount of value on such a light string simply feels very uncomfortable. And creates a very annoying lossmail if you mess up. My advice for today is: Take that rule with a grain of salt.

I only wanted to know how could a 7.7s align time with MWD active,
not jumping at the 7.7s mark, and then get sniped mid-flight, where in theory, it should be invincible ( I cannot shoot or lock anyone whilst in initiated warp mode) but the Ai is able to F… you big time…
Sometime I have to warp out BS with Warp time of 16s… so I have to be very quick in realizing my shield or armor is failing… and I always get out of it, in structure, but I made it.
How on Earth a cruiser can fail so miserably with 50% armor left intact, repper OH, drones out I don’t care, but a stupid box says drones are preventing you to warp… So I lose precious time clicking I don’t give a F… bout my drones… it shouldn’t reset my alignment, but at 10s mark, I’m 10% left armor and still no warp off, then, I get F… I claim “IT’s not my fault” and everybody scatters like the problem was my fit… my compliments to you all…

That Drone thing, does not work in the Abyss, where it should, and it screws you over in normal space…

Good job Fenrir.
Good job.

I’m below 8B Isk mark now.
Brilliant.
Maybe you could help sometime as we are not all able to press
ALt+ and get infinite Plexes..

I have Amarr T3 trained at lv5, so max agility already.
Maybe Fenrir could make the bonus 7.5% instead of 5x level,
and give a neg-bonus on MWD Bloom.
After all T3’s resists have been squashed down, together
with their DPS projection. Maybe add back a turret also and a launcher, and lower the cpu/Pg need for them…

Make training relative T3 skills to LV5 more relevant…

You’re still probably doing better than most players. Move into a Marauder - life will be far easier…

There’s times I don’t have Omega time, and Ships I can fly for those times. So I like to keep my options open.
I still prefer the Machariel than any Marauder on certain missions,
and T1 cruisers also can be faster than Marauders in some Lv4 missions.
Also there was the Sin, that as a T2 BS, was also a Drone ship.
Black Ops used to be tanky and fun to fly.
Not anymore.
And EHP? My Rattlesnake can still get 400k EHP, and even if it’s slower, it’s funnier because I can try all new kind of drones, whilst sniping at 200Km mark If I wanted to.

Those are all viable options as well.

We need Heavy Attack BS.

Maelstrom
Rock
Abaddon
Hyperion

They’ve been sitting there for ages.
No faction options.
No T2 options.
They could be used as Commando ships, Attack, Logi.
They have been left out of the script.

Rock for example could be a Drone powerhouse, in a mixed Guristas, Pirate ship.
Maelstrom and Hyperion get web and scramble boosts.
Abaddon NOS boost and also Drones.
All with massive agility boost and larger caps.

I still use my Abaddon most of the time whilst in Alpha.
It’s rock solid. I’d love a Pirate version with more tank
and firepower. And A slot for Command ship to boost
Skirmish or Armor even higher.

Abaddon is super slow at alignment.
It’s one of those immortal ships I’m talking about.

T3’s on the other hand…
used to be almost immortal…
Only nerfs for them.

The Catalyst update…
Why T3’s didn’t receive a built in Damage Assault control of 30sec?
We can’t even fit Assault Damage control to T3.
No doubt It would give them a chance to warp off.

Marauders.

Because you fitted it badly.

Drones don’t prevent you from warping in any way.

They don’t.

Because it is. Along with your inability to understand how the mechanics work.

I am baffled you even could make that much ISK, given how you present yourself here. Oh wait… did you get it from selling PLEX? -_-

Because they have been nerfed to death…
Fenrir should give T3 a built in Assault Damage control.
Then give back the DMG multipliers, so we don’t have to fit
4X BC to reach just 800DPS (10000with drones).
Mybe you don’t remember the old T3’s.
I Do.
And A built in Damage Control like what they did for the miners
would be a really nice update IMHO.

The rest of your observations are just personal attacks.
I don’t owe you any answer how do I make my Iskies.
Guess what. I have videos out there where I have bought a
MAMBA in my ALPHA account.
All by understanding and exploiting EVE mechanics.

You fit them badly because they were nerfed? Ooookay…

Why? They are pretty powerful and simply don’t need that. You simply don’t know how to pilot them properly. You really should stick to cheap T1 cruisers, lose couple dozens of them and slowly learn from every loss, so in the end you are good at fitting and flying cruisers, at which point your T3s will also perform quite well.

It was fit for AVALON final boss. It was meant for OUT-DPS Proteus and Lokis. It wasn’t a bad fit. It just lacked a Damage control, that’s it.
Something Fenrir should put in like they did put in the radar in Miner ships.
I can’t keep up with all the nerfs Fenrir did in just Catalyst.
The Black Ops thread reveal just that.
My Panther total EHP halved.
What else happened to all other ships?
I genuinely lost track.

T3’s as many other ships that have lost tank, should have been rewarded with enhanced agility.
The Mamba was the only ship to my knowledge that received
a small agility boost, after noticing how slow it was in the Abyss
at avoiding shots and zig.zag towards Karens and such.

Who fitted the ship? Probably you. So it’s your fault it didn’t have a Damage Control.

Because you fit it badly. BlackOps can easily hit 100k eHP, which is perfectly enough for their job of doing stealthy Hit&Run Attacks.

You can fit the ship for more agility of you think you need that. Both with subsystems, rigs and modules. Your choice not to do it and then dying because your aligntime is high and you don’t know how the maneuvering in this game works.

I know you are supposing too much.
And I haven’t lost my ship bc of bad fit of lack of understanding
of align time. Whatever happened, it should have warped off at 7.7s mark.
You weren’t there.
So you are just supposing things.
As how am I making my iskies.

That’s disrepectful.
In Avalon alone I made more than 4B just by looting and selling and doing missions. More than 200M in my Alpha account. That’s how I got my Mamba there.

It wasn’t a great fit, no. If you’re relying on a ~0.5sec variation on your warp out time to save you - you were playing with fire. I’m guessing you were attempting to “blitz” this and just got caught. It happens. Fit better next time.

Look - we all make dumb mistakes. Some of us even repeat them, lol. Apply what you’v learned and forge ahead!
