Lv4 : the thief - lost another ship

I can snipe them from 79Km with HAMS now.
I got a couple of CN computers in the mids.
EHP over 100K. It takes 4x the time but it’s safer.
I transformed the Legion to a Kiting monster.

There you go!

I don’t need to. I also understand how the moon orbits the earth and I never was on the moon. Numbers don’t lie. Killmails don’t lie. It’s very easy to - mathematically - understand that the loss was of course your fault and not some bad game design or bug.

So upon reading some of these more recent replies…i think all hope is lost at this point.

Perhaps one day…one day far in the future.

If you went from a standstill, then yes. If you were going a different direction, you have to put more work into going the right direction and speed. A car can go from 0-60 in 5 seconds, but only from 0…if it’s going 60 in another direction, it must also slow down, turn the right direction and then accelerate, taking longer than 5 seconds to reach 60 going the right direction.

Just ignore it and you’ll warp out.

You can claim it’s not your fault all you want, doesn’t make it true. For the record, the problem is with both the fit and how it’s flown. I can complete that mission with your same exact fit as could many others.

Yep…

I had some hopes after his interaction seemed more constructive than usual, but the last few posts suggest he has learned nothing and is still blaming the game for his mistakes.

Zero understanding of the game, zero understanding of what people attempt to explain. Stubborn as a brick wall we could talk against with a similar outcome, if brick walls could play EVE.

I’ve tried to explain how align time works, others too. And still the same question is repeated:

it should have warped off at 7.7s mark.

Sigh
This is futile.

In all honesty, it’s a bit difficult to advise him on exactly what might have happened in this case. We can only give possible options for what the cause may have been. Usually he posts videos (and in his case they help a lot), but this time it’s a screenshot of his in-game simulation window and his textual interpretation of what took place (and we all know how much his interpretation can be gone on).

One possibility is that he was aligned in a different direction, and when he pressed warp his ship took longer than 7.7s for that reason.

Another is, that the simulation window screenshot is not of the actual hull/fit he used in that situation. He could have had a different module on and not notice it. Or he could have dragged a module off the market to simulate an alternative fit, and that 7.7s align was for that alt not actual fitting.

Yet another – he bumped into something while aligning and didn’t notice it.

All equally possible, given his situational awareness. There are probably more options than what I counted.

While it’s very nice that you give him the benefit of the doubt, I don’t think that’s the case here. He has been posting for a while now and doesn’t seem to put much of the advice given him to any use.

If the common denominator of all your failures is you, maybe it’s not the game that’s wrong.

But it has to be the game /s

Also: if the others can’t replicate your problems, then it’s pretty certain you’ve made a mistake and/or overlooked something somewhere. That’s how I judge my own issues with the game too.

YEah, it has to be the UI that S----

Not that all missions PVe or NOT had not been tested, adjusted, or anything, after Catalyst. By Anyone.
Blah blah blah.

You know it’s true.

Yes, I overlooked a damn Machariel sniping me out at the last second, after having cleared all Orthuses, and Dramiels in less than 2 mins.

I thought I was safe at that point, even if I was already warping out.
Nothing should have been able to kill me. Not a couple BS left on grid with too much tank to tackle… why don’ t change all Machariels in PVEs with PAnthers???
Maybe it would be more equilibrate…
But it’s a miracle someone didn’t swap them for Barghest…

I’m fairly sure NPCs do not fly T2 ships, and even their T1 hulls have different stats than when capsuleers fly them.

(It could be pretty fun though if NPCs could make use of T2 blops features and suddenly drop 20 bombers on you when you least expect it.)

Nope - very different. If NPCs actually flew “real” ships with “real” PvP fits, it would be quite challenging…

wanna tell us how you handle the informant if these are an issue?

Missions haven’t been touched for damn near 2 decades…a few have been added, but a guide made 20 years ago is just as valid as one made today would be.

The “ship” you see is just a skin over a static stat block. They have the equivalent of 1 or 2 weapon hardpoints, not a full rack of weapons. They don’t get ship bonuses or anything. You aren’t being hit by a few thousand HP per volley from each battleship. These battleships also barely have 10k HP themselves. Mercenary Overlord | EVE Ref

Some things never change, it seems. The same goobers still doing goober things.

there’s T2 variants; look at the mining fleets as an example. and burner missions were intended to put the npc as close to a player ship including bling and drugs etc … npc weakness is total predictability, which seems lost on our OP ..

Welcome back
