never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence.
I agree with lvl 5s in Highsec. With the obvious conditions:
Only available in 0.5 and 0.6.
Active tank is a must.
Blingy active tank to really make a profit.
That way, it would be waaaaay safer to do level 5s in Lowsec. No one really lives there and you can crab with 0 risk.
Level 5 mission are a slog to complete them tho, to the point that someone can combat probe you, get a tea, finish the tea, and still have enought time to bring friends to kill you
Attend to @Aisha_Katalen because you are getting some solid advice here. This fit is magic. She gets Golem. Just because it has a bonus to a repper doesnât mean fit one. Putting your money in the implants means with good pod escape skills your tank flies away with you instead of going down in flames with the ship. And the guidance comp is brilliant because anyone who really enjoys flying the Golem spreads their launchers to avoid wasting ammo and fast kill smaller targets. The precision recommendation is spot-on also. People go for paper DPS, but application DPS is more important and often opaque due to the math required to discover what it really is.
I hate it.
To me, Marauders need active tank, otherwise they dont make sense. Bastion module increases active tanks by like 200%. Why not take advantage of such an amazing bonus?
I believe that was already explained: Because when the gank comes, and it will, your ship is going to have an 8 figure shield booster on it that makes almost any suicide run profitable. Plus, you have to manage your capacitor and your booster during missions. On Aishaâs fit, you donât have to do anything but blap the rats. Your capacitor is infinite, and if you get neuted, it wonât matter. You are buffer fit.
The only advantage of active repping is that you potentially have a forever tank if you are under pressure from DPS less than your capacitor x repper cost.
The Golem also offers a painter bonus. But a painter is a fleet module, not a solo mission running module. You donât fire all four launchers together when running a mission. You spread them out.
My Golem has 360K EHP vs Void, a normal Golem has about 120K EHP. Itâs also cheap as fck. So I have WAY more EHP than any other Golem they might have an eye on to gank and there is ZERO profit in it, this means that thereâs very low chance that this ever becomes a gank target unless it was personal. Itâs kinda like not having to be the fastest runner when a bear is chasing you, you just need to be a little bit faster than the slowest person in your group.
On top of that they might not calculate for the Implants meaning they fail the gank all together, would they even bother in the first place.
Nope. I have one module thats 600 million and thats it. Every other module is less than 60 million.
Current event notwithstanding, gankers will not rely on a 50/50 chance of a single 600 million isk module to drop, after taking the loss of, 5-6 tornadoes. Thats 400 million isk just on the hull of the nado, probably 500 including fittings, on a 50/50 chance to drop 600 million.
Thats a terrible gank.
Ive got full cap stable fit on mine too.
Absolutely not. Target painters are there to help apply damage to smaller ships while using larger weapons. You know, the thing youll be doing in a Golem in the first place.
What made you think its only a fleet module?
My Golem has one module that costs like 600 million isk. Again, also not worth ganking unless theyre just ganking for the kill and not for drops, especially when you consider the gank ships are gonna cost 400-500 million isk.
In which case, were both going to have the same chance of being ganked, it would be pure luck as to which ship they happened to come across first.
If Gankers are actually going for isk drops and not just kills, they will go for the most blingy marauders there are. Which mine is not.
Lets say they want to kill something because theyâre bored and looking to farm some tears.
They see mine with extenders and extender rigs with just T2 modules and they see yours with no extenders and a 600m module, guess who they will go for. But hey, donât mind me the less people use this fit the lower my risk of getting blapped If you really want to use a shield booster no one is going to stop you (other than gankers).
The dude asked for a good fit so I gave him one and it IS a good fit regardless of some specific personâs like for shield boosters.
I just fitted up a golem with this and tried it out without the implants. I ran Angel Extravaganza in it. Shields never fell below 85%. Cleared it in pretty much the same amount of time as with a painter equipped torpedo golem with a Gist X-type booster and Caldari Navy BCSâs and a couple of pith-x hardeners.
Less to manage. Better application using precision cruise. More range. Easy as pie.
Iâm keeping it. Iâll keep trying sites and see if I can trigger enough rats to blow me up.
Yup and with the implants you get good regen too.
Sansha & BR being the lowest is 320 but you have tons of EHP so it all good, against all the others is 450-500 so it actually tanks just fine. It takes zero effort, itâs safer, if for whatever reason you AFK or you DC or whatever the tank just keeps running.
Normally I like more effort for more performance but honestly, the type of performance the Golem CAN do with more effort is pretty much useless in missions.
The Vargur works the same way btw, just with 1400s.
Theyd probably go for you because you seem to be unable to afford an expensive module. People who cant afford ships or modules cry the most when they lose it.
Were talking about which ship is the most effective at running L4s, as the OP is someone who is crying about how little he makes at L4s.
This is why most, if not all L4 blitzers will have boosters/repairers, and not be buffers.
So no, it has nothing to do with what you like/dont like, and everything to do with the efficiency and min/maxing to make the most amount of ISK.
Tank doesnât affect the ISK you get.
Strange. I have max 312 EHP/s on that fit (no implant). Considering 800 EHP/s from XLSB is not enough for some mission, I canât help but be doubtful (no idea if angel extragavaganza is supposed to be difficult. I believe the bonus room is, but otherwise itâs ⌠5 pockets ? with small fries)
That is by far the dumbest thing Iâve read on this forum all week and trust me, the competition is steep.
If you REALLY tryhard (99% of people donât do this, not even blitzers) then yes. Realistically this will work better, safer and easier.
It uses extender rigs which you could use for dps or application. But itâs only 2 rig slots and a rof rig doesnât really do that much in reality due to 3 BCS. It will look awesome as paper dps though.
It has a MJD and reaches out to 150km. You jump out and hit them from range. This fit isnât for face-tanking a fully triggered 10/10. The same way you would use a Paladin with Scorch.
So youre telling me that someone who can afford to replace their losses easily is going to cry more than someone who cant?
This shows that you dont really blitz L4 missions.
How many weapon groups do you have?
