Yet CONCORD’s design and implementation is to not stop people from ganking or committing to PvP in these high security systems.
… which is a spectacular fail In My Opinion.
Look back to how the game was originally and the reason why trying to tank CONCORD is an actionable offense.
Now look at other games that feature similar mechanics and see how they’ve handled these issues.
In the end everyone isn’t going to be happy, but there is a way of making it so the systems can be tolerated by everyone.

You consent to PvP the moment you create your character.
Market and forum PvP are real. No need to undock to experience PvP in EvE.
Except that mining, manufacturing, researching, exploration, ratting, missioning, hauling, trading, roleplaying, and player interactions are all PvP activities too.
Who do you think builds all of those PvP ships? Industrialists.
Who do you think provides the raw materials for those PvP ships? Miners.
Who do you think provides the T2/T3 stuff for those PvP ships? Researchers and Explorers.
Who do you think sells all of those PvP ships? Traders.
Who do you think moves all of those PvP ships to market? Haulers.
Who do you think provides ISK to keep these markets going? Ratters and Mission Runners.
Who do you think leads the PvPers? Players interacting with other players.
I am not exaggerating when I say that literally every activity in EvE is a PvP activity. You’re always competing against someone, somewhere, even if you don’t immediately realize it. And you don’t even need to log in, let alone undock, to engage in PvP. I’ve started wars and generated kills from the forums.
Welcome to EvE. There is no PvE, there is no non-consentual PvP, there is only players vs players.
Yea, especialy Retriever vs. Catalyst. Wo ho great “competive” PvP right here.
^ this is the problem.
I know that’s a thing people do, but using that example and “competitive PVP” is kind of reaching. PVP isn’t always about being competitive in the sense you are using. Things like that I personally see as the Alliance Tournament.
PVP in the sense of a sandbox is unexpected amd rarely fair. Be it a Retriever against a Rifter and a Vexor with ECM drones or a Hulk getting jumped by a Procurer using stasis and light scout drones, the ultimate goal is for something to blow up so industry can happen.
Without it, things starting to become more of a themepark where its provided for you and the things involved with crafting become more pointless.
Yes, that is competitive PVP. It’s just that the Retreiver pilot failed the competition when they allowed themselves to be on grid in a defenseless ship with a player in a combat ship intent on destroying them.

Because 1v1 and solo play is what EVE is all about.
CONCORD doesn’t protect
They punish
Also, EVE is a pvp game
You consent to it the second you log on
wardec is for weak heads
PvP, Player vs Player…
It does not matter if a retriever pilot gets ganked…
That same pilot gets angry and throws expletives in local when a fleet of 2-3 Orca’s and 10 Skiffs land on grid scoop all the ore and move on to the next belt.
If he tries to skip belts the fleet scouts him out and moves to where he is…that is PvP, no ship to ship combat involved.
The number of posts on forums over the years… some complaining about .01 market orders, others complaining about Industrialists dumping on buy orders in a way that completely destroys a particular item category… oh well thats PvP.
When you mouth off…and then a nado/talos group drops on you and wipes your stuff out…guess what…that is PvP…
Everything in EvE is PvP…
EvE= Everyone vs Everyone
EvE = Everything vs Everything
do you get it yet?
Offcourse You know that when You shoot someone who does’t want to be involved in any kind of PvP You literally ruin the game for them? You make them unhappy when they came to EvE in search of placeholderForThingsYouEnjoyInEvEotherThanPvP.
Which begs the question; Why are you here?
Eve is a pvp sandbox. That’s not a secret. Non-consensual pvp happens everywhere. That is also not a secret (its in the new player faq and hintes at in the golden rules of eve).
So you’ve come here knowing that non-consensual pvp is going to happen. And yet you still whine on the forums as if the game wasn’t growing every year when ganking and wardeccing was easier and more common.
Crime watch needs a complete overhaul to make high in the spirit of eve overall. High sec should not be treated like it’s a completely independent world.
It’s been overdue for another update for a while. It’s must a matter of how to do it the right way.
You nail all these points about what , “EVE IS” and you end with NPCs helping you fight wars ???
Somehow you are able to list all of what EVE IS and yet still miss the point of EVE altogether, nice one.
You’re kinda right, I was mainly focused on a way to combat the drop in player activity/subscription.
I likely didn’t express the idea specifically enough. I never thought of NPC’s as fighting for the corp in the war.
- Aggressor challenges corp to war.
- Concord says to corp: “You’ve been challenged, prove you’re active and we’ll deny the war request.”
- Corp wins activity challenges, wardec never goes active.
It’s not really a good idea, I was more fishing for you smarter people out there to share better ones.
Just nerfing the wardec system isnt fair to the people who have chosen this life as their main activity in EVE online.
Wardecs on corps with structures is fine.
I think we should set a corp tax to any Player owned corp that doesnt have structures.
That, or make the cost of making a player owned corp, much more expensive. Make it a monthly cost to operate a corp, even. Once you put down a structure, you no longer have to pay.
Player owned corps should not be tax-havens, without putting some skin in the game.
Two options:
- Cry
- Figure out how to use it to your advantage.
You’re looking pretty good for number 1.
