Imagine a cargo ship hauling thousands of Fedos crashing to a planet.
One player also had the idea of auto targeting Fedos. Like in Half-Life those alien bug thingies.

Having 3 tonne creatures charging at players could be a really good environmental hazard. Bonus points if you can aggro them and then get them to stampede over enemy squads.
Hopefully terrestrial planets will get a decent assortment of fauna, even if it’s mostly earth like animals.
The fedo zerglings being all territorial would make for some pretty good neutral npcs though. And since they’re melee, they’ll run inside the dome shields.
There is new planet exploration (hinted so in Directors Letter ) map coming in June. Who knows what dangers await unexpecting Vanguards

Another thing to consider is fauna would drop biomass and potentially special creature specific resources.
In addition to this, I’m a big fan of the dauntless boss encounter style. (Injure the boss and have parts of it break off - monster hunter may have done this too, but I’ve never played that game.) So having some large creature on the map as a kill target would be nice.
