We are planning a masstest on Singularity on 28 February, from 17:00 to 19:00 UTC
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU’RE USING DX12 ON PC
What exactly is being tested?
GPU Driven Pipeline – At Fanfest 2023 we announced that we were working towards a GPU-driven pipeline. While the linked Youtube video will explain it in more detail, this change allows your GPU to be used more effectively by reducing CPU involvement in rendering when using DirectX 12 or using macOS. While it is dependent on the system hardware, on systems with a balanced CPU and GPU, this can lead to a significant frame rate improvement.
There are other various improvements, including some fixes to flickering, anti-aliasing improvements when under motion, and general stability improvements.
We want to test the performance and stability of these changes with a wider audience and need your help!
How to connect to Singularity for this test:
Change the server from Tranquility to Singularity in the top right corner of the launcher and log in as normal.
So we can expect even more power draw from our PCs in the near future? It’s already noticeable in hangars, where turning off the interiors reduces power draw by up to 50 W.
Any idea if this will fix the gfx issues with the Drone horde gfx overhaul?
since the update i havent been able to warp into hordes with high gfx without the framerate dropping from 300 to 3 and screen flickering from the lightning effects
I am curently on linux runing eve (beta) trough steam via proton 9-0-4 and i am unable to select DX12, it just grayed out for me
GPU: AMD ATI Radeon R7 370 / R9 270/370 OEM
Flags are
PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% -dx12
-dx12 added just now (still ain’t helps)
So you’re offloading CPU to the GPU, cept the CPU does little processing now and the GPU is way overprocessed. Just sitting idle in station, or at the character selection screen GPU is processing more than most of anything else in game. You could save everyone’s electric bill a lot just by fixing that. Cranking on the GPU for a mostly static image is a waste.
CPU has never done much in this game and the GPU routines need some huge optimizations.
Docked and character select screens really crank on the GPU, CTRL-ALT-DEL in windows, open task manager, performance, watch GPU. They are mostly static images and yea, it’s a totally un-necessary power drain, cranking on the GPU mostly static images.
Whats the point of this!? I was able to run and play with my RX590 8GB and i7-3840QM just fine and then after update it crashes! Restore damn compatibility with this HW and then ask people to test your crap!!!
Although I’m sure it’s not a priority, I am running EVE through Wine ge-8-25 on Linux Mint and while I can launch the game and get to the character screen, I will crash upon entering the game itself. This occurs on any settings on DX12 while using DXVK through Wine. The following console output occurs before the crash (duplicate lines omitted):
367108.275:04f4:04f8:fixme:vkd3d-proton:vkd3d_set_view_swizzle_for_format: B8G8R8X8 swizzle is not supported.
367108.275:04f4:04f8:err:vkd3d-proton:d3d12_command_signature_init_state_template_dgc: Root parameter 0 is not a raw VA. Cannot implement command signature which updates root descriptor.
367123.984:04f4:04f8:fixme:vkd3d-proton:shader_sm4_read_shader_data: Unexpected immediate constant buffer size 10096.
While I figure this is probably something more for the Wine team to work on, I thought I’d post it here so that others with similar setups are aware that the issue occurs. The problem doesn’t happen on DX11 mode, of course, where I can enter game just fine.
Looking forward to this test as I’m having serious issues with DX12 on R7 5800X3D & RX6750XT 12GB. When running DX11, the game runs smoothly, no sttutering and FPS limited to 165Hz as I wish so. But when switched to DX12, disaster enrolls, sttutering is bigg issue, FPS drops when undocking or at Jita etc. I hope this will be fixed for AMD systems.
At first i thought ships were not fully rendered but when we arrived at the metenox, it appears that its just they mash together possibly due to the big ship sizes at the immediate distance. adding a link to all the screenshoys i took.
System info: latest OSX 15.3.1, monitor 3840x2160, fps capped at 120. Mac 4 mini with M4 pro chip 24GB ram. link for pictures: FPS graphic test server - Album on Imgur
Made a short recording during the test (sorry for my noob flight ).
Max 45 FPS on ultra settings at 4K resolution. Easily boosted to a stable 60 FPS by slightly lowering the settings and reducing the resolution to 2K.
MacBook 14 M1 Pro 8c | 16Gb
OS: Sonoma 14.1
High settings, 3024x1890
After researching on SiSi I can confirm Erudin Hanka is the first Caldari Circle agent. Just think of all the new players who missed out on faction standings because @DeMichael_Crimson wasn’t thorough.
Don’t know why you’re trying to demean and shame me in this thread, especially when the thread topic doesn’t even remotely pertain to Faction Standings…
The list of Circle Agents, and their referrals, that I documented in 2010 was correct… For years multiple players have followed that list and completed all of the circles to gain Faction Standing increase…
There may have been some changes due to CCP’s Triglavian / Pochven fiasco or the recent Deathless event… Whatever the case may be, if the original list of Circle Agents is incorrect, then please feel free to update and submit a list to Uniwiki (Eve University Wiki) so they can update the info on their Circle Agents page…
