Mass Test on Singularity - Tuesday 12 August - Raytracing & Upscaling!

o7 capsuleers!

We are planning a masstest on Singularity on 12 August from 17:00 to 18:00 UTC

What exactly is being tested?

Destiny (our physics engine) has been refactored to make it easier to improve it in the future.

Destiny related updates have been separated out from regular gameplay updates, so they are now sent out to each client as a separate batch. This enables us to optimize the Destiny updates in the future, as they are now isolated and well defined. This mass test is intended to gauge how well the system performs under load after these changes have been made.

Upscaling solutions have been enabled in this test. They include FSR3, DLSS, XeSS and MetalFX for macOS. The game will randomly select one that is available for your system when starting. We encourage you to change the quality setting and upscaler during the test.

Raytraced shadows are now available if supported by your hardware. They are enabled by default during the masstest.

We want to test the server performance and stability of these changes with a wider audience and need your help!

How to connect to Singularity for this test:

Change the server from Tranquility to Singularity in the bottom right corner of the launcher and log in as normal.

More detailed instructions are available here.

Test Instructions:

Join the in-game channel masstesting. Instructions are in the MOTD.

Move yourself to FD-MLJ (type /moveme in any chat window and then select FD-MLJ the list)

Join fleet W or X through fleet finder

Wait for the test to start for further instructions.

For this test we’re looking to get as many people in one location to test performance, however if you cannot attend during the testing time you can still help! Singularity will remain open during the week.

We strongly recommend updating your graphic card drivers to the latest available for this masstest.

Singularity will be open from 16:00 UTC on the day of the test and remain open until Friday the 15th.

epic.

Do they give us a treat for doing this? Like a few LSI’s or something?

Used to be skillpoints on sisi. I think now its evermarks on TQ

cheap of them

And they dont have to give â– â– â– â–  out. And you dont have to show up and help.

Skill points on Sisi was back in the day when Sisi was open 24/7/365.

EverMarks on TQ was last year-ish, not this year. I guess EverMarks reward didn’t encourage people to show up (I sure didn’t care showing up, so I don’t know if really the participants were plenty or not).

Last year though, Sisi would close shortly after the mass test. This year, the “reward” is Sisi staying open for a couple of days. I like this a LOT more than the useless EverMark, so I do show up.

Also this year, they made Large Skill Injector available for 100 isk on the market on Sisi, so you can train a few things and test something new if you want. This also is a LOT more valuable than EverMark (at least, if you still have stuff to train)

We will have Large Skill Injectors on Singularity available during this test.

Why only 24h notice for this? You’d get a lot better participation with more notice :frowning:

Huh? 3 days ago they posted this lol

the news post was only published today

have u already fixed when max graph setting the screen often flash

Do the LSIs transfer to Tranquility or is it just on Singularity?

Finally that pesky graphical bug introduced in Legion during Incursions going to be fixed, O joy.

Just for use on sisi

DLSS version?

â– â– â– â– â– â– â–  lame. Not even bothering to dl the test server tbh

Ccp has already fixed lags and td during fights, raytrasingis really what missing in this game, clowns

That looks good and all, but GPU isnt an issue. Game needs multi-thread optimalisation, because there are none. My 15 cores are parked and only one is running in larger battles. #ccpplease
