Mesa 22.3.0~kisak

Posting as I troubleshoot this.
Just had eve up and running fine, then notified of update available for mesa. Clicked, rebooted, eve launcher won’t load.

Only change was bumping to Kisak PPA provided Mesa 22.3.0

Linux Mint 21 using the kernel 6.0.0-1007-oem kernel.

Will test swapping back to standard kernel and/or reverting mesa.

Removal and other shenanigans didn’t work; dropping to 5.15.x kernel didn’t work.
Bumped to oibaf PPA which provided build 23.0

Seems functional again.

Interestingly enough running eve with vulkan and dx12 and such; the inbuilt eve framerate monitor has ALWAYS reported an RX 480 video card which was incorrect.
Suddenly with the new mesa 23 package it correctly identifies RX 590 card.

Performance is identical and I’ve been looking to replace it for a couple years…but every other game ever identified it correctly…now eve does too.

Works fine here

Ubuntu 22.04
Kernel: 5.15.0-56-generic
OpenGL version string: 4.6 (Compatibility Profile) Mesa 22.3.0 - kisak-mesa PPA

I had a issue with the launcher not loading a few days ago, i think was getting stuck at checking hosts. I hit refresh on the systray icon, killed the process once or twice and it fixed by itself.

Yeah I certainly don’t think it made any sense. Just was IN eve … then bumped that single package and upon reboot it derped out at the launcher…which shouldn’t really be greatly effected.

Just figured I’d post in case it bothered anybody else. On the bright side it does properly recognize card fully for the first time. I’m sure I’ll have to downgrade again when the bleeding edge PPA wrecks my stuff.
