Mining UX, Phased Fields, Highsec Mining Content and New Ships

I agree with this point and this is coming from someone who used to spend most of his time in a null sec bloc.

As a multiboxer, I couldn’t agree more. Everyone benefits.

  • Gives miners minigames to distract them from looking at local.
  • Rewards attentive miners and makes the solo miner feel more in control of the yield.
  • Crits + Mining Mutaplasmids + Prismaticite = Casino Dopamine Mining Double Plus Ultra!

IIRC, they hold just under 2 complete cycles of ore. With the new system, that will be 6 or 7 cycles. If you’re paying attention, you’ll never lose any ore this way.

Just over 2 cycles. With the new system, 8 cycles of 14s (max boosts and all).

Thanks, it’s been a few years since I last mined.

Either way, lots of opportunities to empty the hold for those criticals.

Only for solo miners. The ones still multiboxing hulks are gonna be pissed af when they discover the miners going offline so much because of space magic.

THIS is the space magic that went too far?

Seriously? Unstable ore?

This is a good idea.
Mining has always felt like the worst part of the game.
It’s literally “sit here and wait".
Wait either for someone to feed on you, or for you to get full.

It feels like it was never intended to be done solo but something you multibox or do in big fleets.
That’s the kind of thing that will make 99% of new players looking into eve just leave and never come back.

Adding a minigame that reward you for being active would make the activity feel more engaging and actually worth doing for solo players.

You could literally copy past something like the Project Discovery Exoplanets and it would be enough, but there is many, MANY different minigames you could slap in there that would work too.

hacking range on a battle cruiser or any exploration ship is kind of useless cuz you can’t loot from further away than 2500m anyway should come up with something more useful

”Pyerite problem” has been a massive PSYOP for total mineral control!

If I read this DevB right, the Survey Scanner results now also show in this inspace UI madness. Does this mean the results in List display go away? Is this yet another attempt to make EVE more fancy but unusable?

And where is the update to the 2D Map that incorporates bug fixes and improvements after the first public test?

I need one of those crystal balls, today is allegedly my last day of work…

my contract ends today… future unknown….

on the brightside I’ll have much more time playing thee days…

not really but well… water is wet…

Have a good day everyone..

Can we be allowed to see the mini barge in the picture of it?

The prospect is supposed to be a mining ship, not a low sig tank hot dropping ship. Keep that kind of shenanigans to bombers.

At least make it a auto-compress toggle, its silly to have to push this every 4 minutes like rat in a laboratory experiment.

See the recent ganking threads, botting is already here.

Every new ship is OP so people will invest in it.

Somehow we can all see this while CCP is myopic as ever.

What’s the bet a critical ore cycle will just 100% fill it?

Amateur. Lazy multiboxers use max m^3 ships, the people doing this seriously are using a DST fleet hangar and going for maximum yield.

Some of us prefer not to spend our ISK on cheats.

Like the Retriver pack they had a few years back where you could get it for the low low price of $9.99 right ?

Not putting much hope for CCP to develop a mechanic that won’t instantly be botted.

Its not a fair comparison to use the EHP of the ship with the bonus to tank, when the EHP of the other ships barely breaks 20k ehp, though realistically its more like 10k ehp as nobody who flys a mining ship is going to count the armour or hull as tank.

Critical hit more like a mercoxit gas cloud? That is actually a pretty good idea.

One person boxing 20 accounts is going to have less fun if every cycle 1 or two of them have to dodge gas clouds that will make them explode. Its a solution that actually scales with the underlying problem.

Mercoxit like gas cloud. Everyone has to pay attention or they get explo damage. Its a beautiful idea.

I see lol.

But it’s an absolute no from me to have a single button that compresses the ore hold of every ship in a fleet. Or even auto compress on a single ship when the hold is full.

I mine and think it’s a bad idea.

As for botting, I don’t follow ganking threads, I have zero interest in them. You might find a comment or two from myself but all in all I have little to do with those threads, and if you’re correct then someone at CCP isn’t doing their job.

Is Team Security still actually a thing?

Is there any plan on doing anything with low price of all R8 moon ores and some of the R16 moon ores?
Also is there maybe any plan on changing anything with Standup M-Set Moon Drilling Efficiency rig to give something better than 2% bonus?

Would you like a button to automatically warp your ship to the nearest asteroid belt in the constellation with that?

People don’t count armor and hull EHP as EHP?

Since when? Who? Are they new?

There is no reason for your barge to be ‘barely breaking 20k EHP’ unless you actively avoid everything that says ‘resistance’ on the modules on your ship.

Yeah lets stall any and all progress and new features with the arguments that a bot could run them. So what? A bot can run some current content as well, and even more: a bot can run a badly designed crit-mining concept as it can run a well-designed one. So better have a well-designed one where at least real player benefit from.

I would like to see the crash of mercoxit addressed. Back when it was spiking, it was actually worthwhile to sneak into nullsec to ninja mine! Quite a few mining styles got the nerf bat this year.
