I troll to get interaction. Like Foggy and I above. I don’t hate Foggy, I just agree sometimes and sometimes not. If you cant take the heat, get outta the kitchen. Like many of us trolls here, we post to instigate a response. Good or bad. If its good, the trolls pitch in to help. And as someone else pointed out, (sry, I forgot who) if it’s a whine/complaint, it gets squashed. Ask, don’t yell…
Here’s the thing. The trolls that make YOU laugh might not be the trolls that make ME laugh. The trolls that might be annoying to YOU might not be the trolls that are annoying to ME.
You want moderation that agrees with your narrative of who should and who should not be allowed to post. Not people whose narrative you disagree with. Just you. Everything you post is all about you.
No, Archer. There’s no room for subjective moderation. A rule for one is a rule for all. Period.
Actually I look for good ideas that CCP will never use. That was till limiting recourses. That was in the forums before I ever heard anything from CCP on the matter. But I didnt follow the links enough back then and could have missed something.
And I forgot, I give a lot of isk to new players who post on the forums asking why I lost my stuff so they can restart as opposed to those who post with rage. They I give nothing, not even advice because they will never listen…
Exactly, but those posting who oppose it do so because they would no longer be able to freely insult, demean, ridicule, flame, swear and attack others.
Establishing and following objective criteria (a “rubric”) for identifying and acting on cancerous posts/posters and permitting some degree of roughhousing are not mutually exclusive.
I can see how that may not sit well with folk who measure others by keeping track of which posts a person likes when deciding how they feel about that person.
I can imagine scenarios where a person may think they’ve been insulted, demeaned and ridiculed because they can’t take criticism of a post.
New poster posts what they think is a truly brilliant idea only to be gently told that it’s an idea that’s come up before, been debated, had it’s flaws enumerated, and consigned to the trash.
Some people don’t react at all well to that and I am glad ISD and CCP give benefit of doubt.
I can imagine scenarios where some posters will say anything to keep the current status-quo. Doesn’t matter anyway, CCP clearly stated what’s expected from forum users.
