Monthly Economic Report - December 2024

Greetings data-driven capsuleers,

The Monthly Economic Report for December is ready for your review.

MER Changes

There was a request that we look at the way Imports and Exports work:

  • Imports & Exports work by looking at Ship Movements between Regions.

    • They don’t count the Ship, or Modules/Ammo fitted to the ship, or implants ‘fitted’ to the character.

    • They do count all items in the Cargo, Ship Maintenance Bay, or any other specialty bays.

      • This includes Assembled Ships, modules fitted to those assembled ships, etc.
    • We would like to revise this, so only non-assembled items are counted in Imports & Exports. However, we can’t without changes to the way we log ship movement events. This is being reviewed with the EVE Development Team.

Economic Summary

  • Production has stabilized in December, after a significant increase in November.

  • Mining Value has continued is upward trajectory.

    • A large part of this is Increased Ice mining, driven by Volatile Ice Storms (from the Winter Nexus / Yoiul Festival event).
  • Commodities has seen a spike in Overseer Personal Effects bring sold to NPC Buy Orders, again from the Winter Nexus / Yoiul Festival event.

I wonder what the experts can get out of this regarding the price of PLEX and its course during the past month.

Maybe @Arthur_Aihaken can provide his insight too regarding the same.

Also wonder what people analyzing the raw data will uncover in general.

Oh and by the way anti-wordsalad vaccine for sale below Jita market price!

:innocent:

Mmhmmm…

Movement via Asset saftey does not count then?

Ok.

So a stack of 1000 RLML that were stripped from Caracals that all have overheat damage, will count as 0 items moved?

sigh

What exactly is the use case requiring a distinction between the two?

Can you guys stop goofing around and add like 4 0s to the rocks in the equinox anoms in null? How high does the MPI have to go month after month until you guys admit a buff needs to happen?

After all the Null groups whined about the Sov 2.0 changes ruining their jump bridge networks and CCP blinking first in response, the change in mining anonamaly compisitition is one of the few meaningful differences between EVE sov now and like 10 years ago.

Am I the only one who’s noticed the patch notes state the last update was 01-07-2024 instead of 2025 !!! yes I know its pedantic, no there is no need for other comments…

Almost exactly 6 months ago eh?

07-01-2024 if you want the US way of dating stuff

 Quick edit to remove the extra 0 on the year. GG.

Either way it was released 5 to 7 months after it was last updated.

Well at least i’m not the only pedantic one around here

If there are enough of us, we could be Pedantic Legion.

Hmmmm, Not ‘PedanticSwarm’ ?

Can we have some numbers on the ADG development from before and after the “improvements”?

Just really want to know what caused the mineral Price index rise so much…

I didn’t see much changes on mining in resent update, and there is no major battle destroy a lot of things cause everyone to buy mineral. SO what happened?

I guess people dont mine that much anymore, because it became a hassle. smaller belts, smaller roids, respawn time and on top you cant even mine in every system .if our miners (some have/had 30+ accounts) would go into the asteroid belt it would be gone within minutes and then there is a respawn timer you have to wait for. you could go into small belts - they insta respawn - and get insta mined because they are stupidly small (the belt as well as the roids) - who wants that ?
This winter is a summerhole - at least in the corp i am.
