Monthly Economic Report - December 2024

prety color
such rad
wow

Solo mining is supposed to be miserable. EVE Is a team game, no amount of ship changes will lift lone wolf pilots over those who can organize and work cooperativley.

Iā€™d say the active vs. passive mining stats bear this outā€¦

November Sov changes started to drain down the morhphite reserves that were once found in 3 out of the 5 mining anonamalies lost to current spawn mechanic.

People forget that a Hulk used to cost 800 million, the current prices for T2 is very low considering the hideous rise in PLEX prices.

Thank you for the report.
I would like to see a breakdown of ore mined in the style of ā€œ[NPC vs Players]ā€.
Iā€™ve often wondered how effective those NPC mining groups and gangs are when I see them.
Iā€™m willing to share some role bonuses with them but they never accept my fleet requests.

Solo is a big part of MMOā€™s people cannot play as a group 24 7 they need some down time.

before I forget, the monthly reminder:

Like every month: Too much Ice from afk/bots in HighSec. Too few Ore/Ice mining in Lowsec. Solutions are easy:

  • no static icebelts any more, afk-massmultiboxers and bots shouldnā€™t rely on the fact that they can log in, undock 20 hulks and just erase a belt convenient in half an hour, putting all the money/resources into one guyā€™s pockets.

  • split the ice amount from the static belts into randomly spawning ice anomalies (directly warpable) of smaller size and scannable ice sigs of larger size with some higher quality ice. Give active and motivated mining corps an edge over semi-afk massmultiboxers and bots.

  • do the same for lowsec with the high-quality ice/ore belts, plus adding ā€œabandoned ORE mining outpostā€ sigs with high quality Ice/Ore in a deadspace pocket that canā€™t be hotdropped. This would encourage people to do mining-expeditions that are worth the endeavour if you can survive. The need to scan them first and the need to take a gate before warping in would allow the miners to defend themselves with paying attention, leaving a scout or suicidetackler behind to evac their fleet on one hand, but also allow hunters to prepare ambushes by pre-scanning the sites so they can sneak in with a cloaked ship without probes being shown and/or using recons to keep the Dscan empty. Interesting interaction for both sites is possible.

Oxymoron

replace ā€˜cannotā€™ with ā€˜choose not toā€™

Optimal outcome vs Personal Choice.

Pick one.

Nothing is black and white, your thinking is very linear.

Supposedly thereā€™s a limited miner strike going onā€¦ Not with the bots, of course - just the humans.

there is no strikeā€¦there is simply no oreā€¦
large anomaly belts are gone within an hour in our corpā€¦and then ppl log off - because they have to wait for the respawn (4 hours) - but they dont want to wait - the wanna play the game - so ppl left the game - this is not a strike. its just a lack of the still poor contentā€¦if there is actually content. i hear ppl in my corp, after they logged in, complaining that they have to wait now for 2 hours to have a belt respawn, which was finished 2 hours ago by someone elseā€¦

There is ore everywhere around. The ā€œtrickā€ is that you have to move around with your mining fleet. EVE isnā€™t a static game where you just log in all your mining ships, undock, grind the ore and then go docking. While your fleet is mining, have scouts around checking nearby systems for more ore which you then bring the fleet to.

Assuming of course that all of the nearby systems havenā€™t been similarly strip-mined.

The proliferation of passive mining is simply staggeringā€¦

Are you kidding me ? so i should move 10 jumps (into a system which doesnt belong to us) with my 20b fleet to mine 450m isk worth of oresā€¦
what have you smoked???
eyes were obligatoryā€¦always - i lived in nullā€¦maybe you havent realisedā€¦
if we dont put upgrades into the systems hub we dont get any beltsā€¦are you actually playing eve online ???

but anyways - i dont care anymore - my accounts are running out.

Sure, or you wait until your own system respawns more ore. If that is too much risk, maybe simply donā€™t use a 20B fleet. A Porpoise and a handful Barges will do for sure if you like mining so much and they are pretty cheap. Or conquer more space to have more resources available.

Then do the upgrades required, or scan yourself some WHs you can mine in or get more systems to have more belts. Yes, I do play EVE Online and I farm whatever I want to have in 100% hostile space, be it Gas, Ore, Ratsā€¦ anything ā€œbelongsā€ to those who can take it. So go out and just take it. And donā€™t sit in your little ā€œHome Systemā€ feeling entitled that it shall spawn more and more and more and more Ore so you can just mine with your 20b multiboxfleet forever.

Can I have your stuff? -_-

Other than ratting there are a lot of activities not in a great place (including mining).

some people just dont want to realise - i mean - just go to the other system and install the systemā€¦
maybe the starngers love it when i appear - steal their system (however) and install the upgradesā€¦

you are playing in highsec right ? like forever ?! i know im right, by the bs you writeā€¦
things are running quite different in nullā€¦

however - the game does NOT need to suite me - its ok.
there is a stupid amount of good games out there - but if you try to understand why pirces go nuts right now - just think the opposite way like now and you have the solution.

PS: Of course you cant have my stuff - because who are you ? xD

Thats called ā€œconflictā€, itā€™s the motor for fun in this game. You know what the overwhelming majority of all complaints today is? EVE is stagnating (politically), itā€™s dull and boring because no one wants to fight over anything any more. People want to get spoon-fed riches without effort to feed the greedy mouths of their 20 accounts to PLEX them all and make even more profits on top of it. The more convenient the better. Does that ring a belll? Sounds exactly like what you ask for.

 You couldnā€™t be more far from the truth. I have barely ever played in HS at all, mostly in Low when it was still cool and not the boring hotdropland it has became over the years and now in WHspace where I survive with out Magic-CynoTeleporters and AssetSafety, without Local and Intelbots to warn me. Everytime I undock I am at 100% risk of being attacked, ambushed, killed. I earn my profits by taking risks, as it should be. And if you want more profits, take more risks and stop asking CCP for spawning more resources right on top of you.
